Thinking of getting a decent one. The existing ones use either an optical or HDMI cable. If I wanted to go Sonos for example, is there any discernible gain / loss of quality compared to existing setups if I went down the Bluetooth route?

    Ta very much

I went with Bose a small footprint excellent sound and Bluetooth for my other phone. The remote itself is a fabulous peice of kit that can be programmed to use on myriads of other equipment.

Anyone heard those sky sound boxes?
Done a bit of research on them and they look the business, there made by one if the best speaker companies in the world (by all accounts) I’ve heard them in action in Meadowhall and they sound good so would’ve thought in a living room they’d be great

I've just got a sonos beam and it's great. I put Blade Runner 2049 on and it nearly stripped the skin off my face. Not just the volume but the quality of the sound. It's not cheap but it's a brilliant stand alone audio speaker as well as a soundbar.

TV sound works through a hdmi or optical cable (comes with both) and audio through a hub system connected to your wifi router. The app for playing music is easy to use, I predominantly stream through spotify. You can then add other sonos speakers to create surround sound or for other rooms in your house. IKEA have also just announced lamps with sonos speakers built in.

My son has one on his sky mini in his bedroom but always has it quiet. I've turned it up on the odd occasion and it does sound well. Probably going to get another now I've decorated the 2nd sitting room. Sounds well for the price... £250

I’ve been deliberating getting one but a think I’ll take the plunge and get one based on your opinion, cheers.

Next door has one and the base is non stop in our house whenever they have the tv on (most of the evening). Can’t hear volume but the vibrations are horrid.

We have. It’s much better than it was. Next door changed some settings whilst my husband was there which helped a bit but it’s still there. Makes me feel slightly sick but doesn’t really bother him.

It's probably because you know that it's physically "there" JD. I had a similar problem with the refrigeration gear
at the rear of the convenience store on the main road into Ossett, which abuts our houses. I couldn't sleep at night, but my wife wasnt bothered by it. I finally involved my local Councillor. In turn, he had the local Public
Health boys come in over a couple of days with their Mics and recording equipment.

Final outcome, was that the sound being emitted breached the Pollution by Noise regulations. Notice was
therefore served on the owners and to avoid prosecution they had to permanently isolate it.

Incidentally, I notice you have Swagbucks at the foot of your post. I've been looking at probably doing
some surveys to pass the time of day. Notice that you are awarded Swagbuck points, but can't see where
a comparison is given in pounds / pence sterling equivalents to a Swagbuck. Can you advise please.?

It depends what you want to redeem the points for but the best value atm is to redeem the points for MasterCard which is 1300sb for £10 (they don’t do £5). If you want to cash out at £5 then Amazon is currently 700sb. They discount different vouchers at a time but they tend to stick to the same ones for months/years at a time. The only thing that lets you cash out smaller than a fiver is also Amazon but that is £3 at 480sb so a worse exchange rate.

I’m not going to lie, it’s not the best site strictly for surveys but with all the other bits to do on there it’s by far the biggest money making site I am on.

That's what makes it good, need good low ends to make it sound well. That's what Bose do well

Yes but that’s for them to enjoy in their own home. It completely wrecks anything I might want to watch or listen to (or just the peace if I want to read). It feels like I’m watching an action film and sends my heart rate sky high. Not great when I just want to relax after work.

I know how you feel, my neighbours wall mounted the TV on our shared wall, only solution was for me to do the same and re arrange the room. We previously had a sofa against that wall but you just couldn't sit there when TV was on.
