That rumor seems to be gaining pace! But he wouldn't go surely! If he does.... That would completely derail the blunts season in the prem. I just hope that he stays. I can see them blunts coming in for Dan if wilder goes! I probably think it's bull.. but strange things happen in football. And it's just a wild theory... Not even meant to be a wind up.. just musing!! Before anyone starts
Fingers crossed that he goes. Because if he goes - then what he said in interviews last summer, during the close season, has clearly come to a head.
Is this a serious thread? Its gerrin daft on here, even when WBA were in the Prem the Blades were a bigger club, then add in all the other factors... and you'll see how silly this is.
It's because of the owners somebody owns this and somebody owns that, the rumour going around is, he is only being given a 20 million pound budget. ?
My guess is Wilder won’t be going anywhere, he’ll probably be using these rumours to try and negotiate a better budget for himself.
Leaving his boyhood club, who he’s just taken to the Premier League, for a team in the league below. And not even a big one at that. Very much doubt it.
When I worked, I did a lot of business with Sandwell College which is in West Brom. The area is not dissimilar to Barnsley in that in the main, the locals are committed to the Albion, although being a regular visitor to see my family , I have met one or two that have defected to the Villa, Wolves and the Blues. My nephew like my brother in law his Dad , is a Mackem. He lives next door to a Wolves supporter who he addresses as a " Yam yam" !! The stick he's getting at the moment from Wolves and Villa fans is unbelievable, although it's given and taken in very good spirit. Looking at it objectively, having gone to school in Sheffield for seven years, whilst acknowledging that Sheffield has a larger population, in terms of affinity and as a football Club, apart from their current positions in the Football League, there's not an lot between the two. I don't know for certain, but I would think that in terms of years spent in the top flight, famous Managers and international players, by comparison, the Albion have the edge over the Blades. Not a lot in average attendances, in that the Blades average was a touch over 26 thousand last season compared to the Albion who averaged 25 thousand, but of course the population in Sheffield is circa three times bigger. Like others have said, Wilder to West Brom is probably not going to happen. Only reason he would want to go to the Midlands I would have thought, was to go round the Black Country Museum, which is by the way, well worth a visit. Can't honestly see him passing up on the chance, however fleeting , of managing his home town team in the Premiership next season. If the Board don't give him the wherewithal to buy new players, I would say that the Blades will be favourites to come straight back down and it wouldn't surprise me in the least, to see the Albion mount a serious challenge to take their place in the top division.
Wilder to leave his premier league boyhood club to drop a league and Blunts looking at a guy with one year in division three to replace him. This is a funny thread.
Domestic football season has been finished two minutes, and some people are bored already Some of the rumour sites that are springing up are laughable, and ideas probably conceived in some teenagers bedroom. Worst thing is, some believe the gossip.
I reckon it's more likely that I will win the lottery and I'm the most unlucky lottery player in history.
