One poll I've seen if there were to be General Election now, has the Lib Dems winning,
with Brexit second and Labour in third. Not really bothered about Ann Widdicombe
and her ridiculous views to be fair. She said Megan Markle was trouble and now she's suggesting
that scientists might find an answer to homosexuality. If they find one for bigotry, she should be
the first one to be treated.

You do realise that bigotry means being intolerant to someone elses view... period.
So I hope you include yourself in that..

My point really was this is a party with only one policy. I'm at odds with my party's policy on Brexit, which is clear as mud. To vote for this lot though is a shot in the dark, if this is one of their spokespeople. A knee jerk reaction to European elections is one thing, but they are polling high for general election results now. If Parliament had passed May's deal I would have accepted it, even though I think EU exit is a mistake. (I am very strongly in favour of reform & you only have to look at the EU landscape that there is a lot of support for that throughout the EU).

It is & it isn't. It is a thread about homosexuality being a disease as well.. which is pretty controversial.

Hmmm. Nope. I don't tolerate the view (say) that homosexuality is morally wrong. Being intolerant of the fact that someone believes homosexuality can be "cured", is not bigotry.

Though, I do concede, it must be hard living in the 21st Century with a 19th Century conception of reality.

Tbh as long as sex happens between fully consenting adults I dont get the angst about what occurs during it or the sex of those involved.

No idea what Anne Widdecombe is talking about but I'm confused by the fact that you don't want to discuss Brexit yet you have brought it up then commented on it?

I'd thought that was a widely accepted assumption. that is the current law of the land. Rhetoric like this from a prominent party spokesperson is just weird, but a bit frightening. We have had a party propped up by folks like this in recent times, but said party only has 10 seats in our Parliament. What if they were the biggest party?

From my study of politics what people are saying their voting intentions are now compared with what happens in a general election can be poles apart. I do think people are fed up to the back teeth of Brexit.

Their only policy is Brexit. I qualified my statement by saying I would have accepted the "Deal", if it had been passed by our sovereign Parliament, the one that the Brexit Party wants to pass control back to. My point wasn't about Brexit, but about the quality of the people in the Brexit Party & what their domestic policies may be. The conservative party are a leave party too & folks could vote for them, if they want.

I hope that you are correct. There is a lot of money behind them & a lot of the press.

Those results make me despair. The last few years have made it very hard to be proud of where I'm from.

So you do want to discuss Brexit hence starting this thread?

FWIW my opinion is that the Brexit Party is nothing more than a pressure group and reflect the current mood in the country. Nothing more and their role in any Brexit negotiations and decision making should be the same as yours and mine.

I chose not to vote as I am struggling with my support for the only party I would vote for.

We've just had an election mate. You know, when people's views are counselled. To see if anything has changed people's minds.

Will we always live in Brexit Central? Perhaps you know the answer.
