The owners have to do what they can to keep Daniel Stendel. This manager is a guarantee of success. I can see Stendel only leaving for 2 reasons. 1) Stendel leaves because the money or prestige is far higher at another club than what he can get at Barnsley. 2) It becomes apparent to Stendel that the Barnsley owners don’t fully appreciate his value. Which means of course the owners must maintain a smooth running of the club - including recruitment of players etc.
What if a club nearer to home come in for him? Family reasons can far outweigh other reasons for leaving. Anyway, he’s not gone or even going anywhere. I’m confident that the coaching staff that finished last season will be the same that start next season.
I've realised that trying to make sense of footballing matters is pointless. Whatever happens, happens. The only constant in football is the fans. Just buckle up, expect nothing and appreciate everything.
Think that's why I enjoyed last year so much. Really didnt expect much but after meeting Stendel and that first home match knew it would be a good un.
He will leave at some point & that is a fact. I hope we can keep him a bit longer. A decent season in the Championship, would be good on his CV.
Hoping Stern and Tonge are fully versed in the way he coaches/tactics by the time he moves on and could carry on in the same vein.
The only thing that is certain about Stendel is one day he will leave. Sooner or later. Next week, next year, 3 years. Who knows. That's what happens, best not to get too attached, he's in a very transient position
Can't uderstand why there is a 2nd thread on it TBH. Whenever I post it always asks me to check if there is already a thread on the subject.
Unfortunately this^ My IT colleagues have a description of Hard drives. There are 2 types of hard drive; those that have died and those that will die. I suppose football managers are the same - those that have left and those that will leave. From here though - I don't anticipate it happening soon - let's enjoy him while he's here.
Having spoken to a senior member of staff this week at the club BFC currently is a 'happy ship' in so far as the players, manager, club staff are concerned. What that element of the 'happy ship' are less happy with is the Chinese/ American style of running (managing) the club. If this begins to impinge upon how Stendahl is allowed to manage the team it could influence decisions on his future.
