VAR is ruining football. At least in cricket you can all see what's being reviewed and its talked through. This is a farce.

Absolutely agree. I’m in the stadium. Ridiculous wait with no one a clue what’s going on.

Personally thought it was the right outcome. Eventually.

Pitty VAR wasn't used for Portugal goal. It wasn't a free kick either.

No idea what the ref saw. Seen it 20 times now and can't see a foul. Zuber tripped himself up.

Portugal defender knocks the swiss strikers leg making him trip himself

It's not clear as day without looking straight at it. But it does happen.

Was in Portugal in March & went to a Benfica game. VAR was in use & two bad decisions were reversed. I think it is still in it's infancy, compared to rugby union, but with the money at stake in the game it has to come, at least for the top division & the playoffs.

I'm a tad sceptical about it's worth. Yes, there will be some obvious howlers avoided, but equally there will be times when even with VAR the final outcome is debatable. We've all seen pundits disagreeing in the past about decisions, and they already have the advantage of multiple slow-motion replays.

On balance, it's probably a good thing. But I'd be surprised if it removed controversy from the game, and my biggest concern is the effect it might have on the overall momentum and atmosphere of a game.

Similar with rugby union, you can hear the referee talking through his decision with his colleagues. He/she then asks for confirmation on their decision as they see it.

Thing is with cricket pjay has stopped. In the football both sides thought they had a penalty as pkay continued!
