    According to reports a Championship side have had a bid accepted for him and he’s set to undergo a medical early next week.

    He’s been touted around on here this summer - hope it’s us, he looked really good for Coventry last season where he was on loan from Derby.

    Took until his 14th game last season to score a goal. Had an OK patch of 4 goals in 13 games. Then finished the season with 1 goal in 18, so appeared to go backwards instead of pushing on as he got more used to third division football.

    Not sure it will be us wanting him.

    More of a winger/attacking midfielder and I suppose a lot of people judge Thiam by his goals and assists records.

    I agree though, to rule him out/discount him simply on a goals to game ratio is kind of strange.

    I would think that it will be us, as we were reported to have put in a bid over £1 million and I think that Derby will snap that up. I rate him. I saw both the Coventry games last season and saw a technically-gifted young player who has a lot of potential. Good that the board are putting up the cash needed to aim to establish and strengthen the team in the Championship. If it were a choice of Thomas, OR Turnbull, I would probably go for Turnbull on the evidence, but it may be that we can't finance both and Thomas is a deal which can be done.

    By the way, that Mario Engels of Roda seems to have signed in May for some unknown Swedish team. Mind you, that is what Wikipedia says, so might not be true. I thought he looked a good signing as a player who could make and score goals, either as a central striker, or as a winger.
