United had big hopes for him so you'd think there must be some talent there. However, I've never been impressed when I've seen play and his stats are pretty woeful too.
I remember all the hype about him after he scored 2 on his debut for Man United but since then he’s had a few non productive loan spells. But he’s still young and I imagine he will have played in the same England youth teams as Woodrow so could be worth a trial at least.
A signing for the sake of a signing. Trouble with Man U cast-off player is that everything seems a come-down afterwards. it would need a special attitude for Wilson to be really determined and positive about restarting his career with us. he may have that attitude and, if so, could be worth a punt, but there is a risk of his wasting a wage unless he has that determination. Did ok with Brighton, Blunts etc, but always looked a bit unfocussed.
47 so a bit old. But 25th best in the world according to the PDC world rankings which is good. Yorkshire lad too.
1. He is probably earning more than Moore and Woodrow combined. 2. He’s unlikely to go anywhere just to be back up. You might be able to sign him on Football Manager...
Club enquired when LJ was in charge, hed just signed a new 40k a week deal. Kids ***** though, wouldn't want him here.
Widely reported online mate, obviously it doesnt make it true but they're usually not too far off. It's funny I read this morning that a young lad at liverpool called Brewster has played only 18 minutes of first team football for liverpool but is on a contract worth 55 grand a week. Absolutely outrageous.
Whether it's completely accurate or not is to a degree irrelevant. The fact that these kids who've actually done nothing in football terms are being paid amounts in this ballpark is truly bonkers. Even 10k a week is such an insane salary as to be pretty life changing over the course of a four year contract. Where's the incentive to actually achieve something on the field, fight for a first team place and the like? I'm not saying it's completely absent, but such wages must surely diminish it for many.
Should be a limit in how many young under 18s you can sign. It's a very dog in the manger approach by the big teams and just encourages Englush clubs to look abroad.
The trouble with these sort of salaries for players at this stage of their career is it sets unrealistic expectations. Anyone of this ilk will struggle to get their head round being let go and having to ‘only’ get say £15k a week at a Championship club.
