I get this completely but if there's only 1 buying club involved wanting a certain player and is offering say half the players value, what then ? stick or twist ?
One more year of parachute payments. Would really surprise me if he stayed in league 1 unless he wants to cry on Netflix!
Why believe any of this??? Who says any of it is true??? Come on now, wait for the club to announce!!! Rumours Rumours Rumours
I’m not bothered who is sold as long as: 1) We get top dollar. 2) We don’t sell to our rivals for supporters i.e. Leeds or the Sheffield clubs. 3) We don’t sell when we are in the middle of a relegation or promotion battle - which dosen’t apply at this time of year.
If this piece is correct, looks like we've rejected a bid for Lindsay, but are expecting further interest. https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sp...barnsley-reject-offer-defender-linked-2966726
Only thing I’m worried about is that it does not affect Herr Stendel. If he thinks that the best players are going to be sold from under him and some are wanting away what will that make him feel like.
That’s item can be added. But I’m describing sales here. Obviously if we get ‘top dollar’ then this in theory should open up more opportunities to attract better players.
Afraid not with just 1 year left on his contract. The club's in a difficult position. They've stated publicly any player with just 12 months left on their contract who refuses to sign a new deal will be sold. Also from what we're hearing, Lindsay is refusing to even speak to the club. I reckon EFL clubs will sit tight on this one and try to pinch him for a nominal fee towards the end of the transfer window.
What are the rules? Are they specifically in England/the EFL? I hear stories from reliable sources all the time on social media about players having agreed terms with another club before an offer has even been put in for them, but these would be abroad; in Serie A for example. I genuinely don't know what the rule is. Is it just 'tapping up'?
He's not stupid, he surely understands that sometimes we will sell players for profit. As long as all the money is pumped back into the squad, that's the key.
I always thought a club had to give permission to speak, but do know there are some exceptions as you often read about people talking to other clubs in Jan when due out of contract in Summer, Ramsey at Arsenal did this year, so don’t really know
