Yeah, I'm not even referring to that. Actual transfers themselves this publicly happens regularly in other European countries. I monitor a plethora of reliable football Twitter accounts for my Football Index stuff and it happens all the time. X has agreed terms with Y, £Z per year, clubs just need to agree a fee, etc.
Looked a bit more into this and found two things out: It is only an English specific rule that English clubs can’t speak to other players (or agents)until in their last month of contract. Clubs can officially speak to these player from 3rd Thursday in June.
He’ll have no problem in Lindsay being sold - he understands the club and it’s modus operandi. He’s in the last year of his contract and won’t even talk to the club. He has to go - and there will be enough interest for us to get decent money, though a fee which will reflect he’s only got one year left. If Eaves is being lined up, I’m guessing they’re considering a bid for Moore - but from what I’ve seen Eaves is no worse a bet in the championship than Moore and would be a decent replacement. McGeehan? If he is considering Sunderland (it won’t be four times the money but I could easily believe at least double) - get a good fee and let him go. I like him but I wouldn’t have him in the first eleven with Dougall fit and a full preseason behind him, I don’t think we’d get away with a two of Mowatt and McGeehan in the championship, Dougall being more dogged and a ball winner, stays deeper. I think realistically we’ll need that. I sincerely hope that for Stendel to sign a new deal it isn’t dependant on keeping all of the players, more that he is given the funds and choices to replace and strengthen. For example if we get a bid north of £5million for Pinnock I’d be surprised if he stayed, and we’ve been linked with numerous centre backs already, we thought to replace Jackson, probably Lindsay. Possibly all three though.
Well I was just thinking if it was me and I had come from another country,no knowledge of league 1,did not speak the language,a team that had just been relegated and then picked them up by the scruff of the neck, got them playing the football he wanted and thinking they would run through a brick wall for him,got promotion in his first season for them to then turn round and say they want to go and not extend their contract I would be gutted. Now it seems he will probably have to start all over again.Just my thinking.
I don't think Stendal will give a monkeys to be honest.Transfers are part of the game no matter what country you come from.Supporters get attached but to players and managers it's a job.
Fair point though he might just as likely be thinking that he’d love to sell a few so that he can build his own squad, rather than make do with pretty much what was already here as he did last season. I can deal with losing players but we need to keep the manager if we’ve to have any real chance imo.
So much fun second guessing... What if how when... Don't you just love it.... Not had this much fun since I put castor on my grandmother's crutches...
I'd suspect cavare has to go seeing as we took the extra year option or as he been offered an extension? Same with thiam isn't he into his last year now.
