he was already at Motherwell so that's a pretty poor deal imo

I know we have done some bad deals but to sign your own player for 3m takes some beating :D

Interesting comments from some Motherwell fans online. One saying that Turnbull often doesn't make
the right decisions and is disinclined to show sufficient physical exertion ( i.e he's languid).

Others are saying that he's nowhere yet ready to play in Celtics first team and if that's what
Lennon also eventually comes to realise, he could well decide to loan him back to Motherwell for the season,
on the understanding that he can't play against his new Club of course.

Some are saying that even though the Club are making £3 million on the sale, they doubt that the full amount
recieved will be re-invested in the team and even if it is, they can't expect to sign a ready made replacement
    for such a paltry amount.

I’ve never seen him play so can’t offer my personal opinion to him but the Motherwell fans’ comments could well be a bit of sour grapes? Like when certain players have left here in the past and some fans were giving it the “he wasn’t that good anyway”.

We were never really going to match Celtic financially I don’t think so I’m not too downbeat that he’s gone there.

No doubt Celtic will loan him out, and he’ll be sold on in a few seasons. They do it with the majority of signings they make from that league.

Apparently I have seen him play this season. Went to St Mirren against Motherwell earlier in the season, can’t say he stood out because I didn’t realise he’d played until I looked back at the team sheets once we were reportedly interested. Oh and not to mention he scored that game too. Still doesn’t stand out at all to me though from what I remember.

That said with the stats he had last year I would’ve loved him to see what he could do in our team, but 3 million is a price I’d never expect us to pay for someone. Especially a relatively unknown.

I had a similar story when I saw Mallan play for St Mirren the season before we bought him and didn’t notice him in the game either.

Yeah, the price was too much for us too. I would think we wouldn’t pay anything more than £1.5 million this summer.

Hopefully it’ll be exciting times for us this summer though.

We bid £2million. Motherwell wanted double so we pulled out. They then accepted £3million from Celtic.

Doubt we would have gone to 3 mill.
He's also bound to win a pot at Celtic, assuming he's picked. Not that a Scottish pot means a lot mind.
    Sorry Ian.
