Ive been doing a bit of research on night shift and looks like there's a few options flying and ice fast train. The best option on price and speed looks via cologne which is also a fantastic city in its own right to visit. Option one fly manchester cologne friday to monday 55 pound return. Intercity to bielefield is 1hr44 but only three stops. Option two fly to dortmund from luton for approx 80 pounds and 44 minutes ice train to bielefield. Option 3 via dusseldorf more flights to chose from etc. Option 4 north sea ferrys and approx 4 hour drive. Hope this helps someone.
£55 cologne could be tempting went to Düsseldorf in March and watch a Dortmund game had a brilliant time great place to drink nice clean city I’ve heard cologne is very similar
had talked my self out of it yesterday but after seeing the 50 quid return flights to Cologne I am very much tempted again now
£55 plane £60 leave car at Manchester airport - split between a few in car £50 train ticket return for game £20 ticket for game + digs Pretty cheap for a weekend away I’m tempted
Ive stayed in ibis barbarossaplatz in cologne for about 35 quid a night mainly coz it had underground car park as we drove over once. Great city as is Berlin. I'm waiting for league fixtures first though as i wanna plan a few away trips early and book hotels. Thinking Swansea weekender and stay in yarm for boro away and at least two London trips.
