Another dig at the fans. You do know that if he goes to bigger club higher up the league there will be a higher proportion of supporters who won't overwhelm him with support and admiration.

Ah ok. So anything that doesn't support your opinion is irrelevant.

Agree, wouldn't be in my top twenty. Suppose it depends how far back he's talking. I go back as far as Winnie and Howard and he ain't as good as either of those. Now then. Pinnock is becoming one of those up there.

Don't know if it's down to zonal marking. ( Cos both Pinnock and Lindsay won their fair share of headers in the opposition box) but scared me sh1tless defending corners and free kicks into our own area. The only positive was the opposition although winning the majority of headers, most finished off target. Big problem in this league if not sorted.

I don't think he would be in my top twenty and I start twenty years later!

Yes with Lindsay playing along side 6 different cb’s during that period, no continuity , in his first season . Open your eyes and your mind

For a player to gain my support or admiration they would need to show some kind of loyalty to Barnsley FC. So I'll just support the team.

Players generally use us as a stepping stone, nothing wrong with that, but it's pointless showing support or admiration for an individual when at the back of your mind you know they'll be gone in a year or two...

You take this stance a lot Conan, it's something I don't necessarily agree with. That team were ***** because they were cobbled together. Do you not see it as possible that Lindsay now, with the benefit of 2 years experience, not being 21 years old and asked to play as a starting centre half at championship level, and coming into the division with a regular partner with whom he has built a solid partnership, might be a bit better? It's still a big jump for the team, and we might need some better players (I'd like to see a left-back), but I reckon they'll do ok.

If they give their all for Barnsley while they're here that's all I ask. If we can consolidate in the championship maybe we will have players stay for longer.

It's entirely possible that he might be better. It's also entire possibly he will be just the same. However, I think it is fair to judge a player against the standard of division when he actually played in it, rather than when playing at a lower level. It also seems that any criticism has to be mitigated against other factors i.e the manager was crap, he was young, the other players were inexperienced/crap etc. It's funny that we don't praise players in the same way.

You are not wrong but at work if you feel supported and appreciated you are more likely to show a bit of loyalty ie Mowatt, Brown, Woodrow or not possibly Davies, Cavare. End of the day money determines a players futurre lets see where Pinnock, Lindsay, Mcgeehan, Thiam, Moore finish up.

The Daily Heil are reporting that Lindsay is going to Stoke for 'north of £2million.'
