There are millions of Pakistanis in England.
In comparison there arn’t that many Indians.

    I’m not a cricket fan.
But being a big fan of all things Indian I decided to watch India v Pakistan.

Question is - where were the Pakistan fans?
The Manchester ground was nearly all blue.
Do Pakistan fans stay away when they play India?
    What’s happening?

Millions ? Last census 2011. Shows 1.4+ million Indian. 1.1+million Pakistani. Can't find any definitive figures for percentages at old Trafford.

    Watch the highlights.
There are patches of green but most of the crowd is blue.
With tensions between the countries as it is - I was wondering if this is why the Pakistanis stayed away.
Or is it just a coincidence?

If that’s true - why was that?
If that’s true - then there’s a reason behind that?

Was responding in the main to your first paragraph and not the amount at old Trafford . Pretty sure and only a guess mind, tensions between the countries are down to the government's and not the people. 1 or 2 programmes seem to bear that out. Don't think the match was graded as a high risk given the friendly atmosphere anticipated.

There'll be less trouble at an India v Pakistan cricket match than at domestic football games

Don't read too much into it nudge. England played Scotland at Wembley (When the tartan army invaded the pitch.) Definitely appeared to be more Scots than English.

Only thing I could find was organisers estimated 65% Indian. 20% Pakistani. 15% neutral.

As ethnic minorities Indian immigrants in the UK are far more successful than their Pakistani counterparts . Id guess if tickets were in high demand the greater purchasing power of Indian British Nationals prevailed .

India have a couple of cricketing superstars and are a very good team. Pakistan have been poor for quite a while. Think the ratio of the crowd is a reflection of this.

Was that when the goal post were broken? I remember that. Was a bad time for football violence, but England had a rubbish team & Scotland were better back then. The tables have turned now.

There were quite a few Pakistanis in the crowd. They were outnumbered by the Indians, at least it looked like that to me, but there were crowd shots that showed them.

In terms of the population I believe the latest figures show there are more Indians although relatively speaking the difference is marginal. 1.17 million Pakistanis and 1.4 million Indians.

Yes John. 1977 and according to reports more than half were Scots. Remember watching on TV and thinking thank fcuuk I'm not there. :). Think William Wallace was at the front. :)

Fearing another beating and wanting to avoid any further critical banter, it sounds as though the
Pakistan fans sensibly decided to give the game a miss.!

Most likely get a ban for this but in answer to your question where are they..
Most will be working behind their shop counters whilst the other half either driving their taxi or sat behind their desks awaiting their next patient... Some may even be doing operations or holding clinic... Does that answer your question... Before I get banned and called a racist to boot lol

I don't see how you can have the self-awareness to realise this is racist and then post it nonetheless. I doubt it's even funny to people who like that kind of humour.
