If Pinnock, McGeehan & Thiam are also refusing to negotiate new contracts then I’d be looking to move them on as well so we can bring in players who want to be here well before the season starts. I am pretty confident that Thiam wants to extend his contract....
I don't need to. I'm a trillion percent certain that we haven't spent 60 seasons belonging the second tier. Not even close.
I’ve nothing better to do in my hotel. 34 years in our history we’ve been below the top two divisions. Not many.
Believe the records show we've spent 76 seasons in the second flight re- second division/ championship, twenty in the third level, ten in the fourth and of course, one in the Premiership.
Only one I'd be tempted to be push the boat out for is Pinnock. He could be worth a **** load more next summer, after we stay up & we can be training up replacements. Take the money on the rest, if they won't sign improved deals that are within our budget.
So out of the thousands of BBSers it appears you think I am out of line and a bully. The comment was in jest. A number of others agreed.
Looking at them stats I can't be accused of being a band wagon jumper that's for sure. Started watching them in the fourth tier in the early 70's
Must be a release fee clause otherwise why haven’t we started a bidding war for him like other clubs do.
A £2 million release clause seems reasonable for a player allegedly signed for £350k. It was done under the old ownership, but still looks OK to me, if the player won't sign a new contract. Our latest signing was on a 4 year deal & I expect we realise if you buy development players you need to do this, if you keep wages at a reasonable level, you will lose them to higher bidders. 2 years on his contract & we could have got double to fee maybe?
That's if the stats Ive been looking at are correct of course G&TB's We were founded in 1887 which accounts for 132 years. I've found the piece that confirms where we've spent 107 of those seasons. Presumably the other twenty five, were made up of friendlies and what would be classed today as Non League football. ? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barnsley_F.C.
Wether stendel agreed to this transfer policy when signing is one thing but he will soon get narked by it like the majority of fans do and eventually say yes to another club even if it's a year or so down the line.
