    for grabbing that protester.
You’ve got somebody who was clearly not supposed to be there, could have had any kind of intention , how the fk do you end up in trouble?
Now irrespective of what you would LIKE to do to some of the people there , she’s trespassing and not entitled to be there so how does that work then?

It's an awkward video to watch and I think the aggression in his face does him no favours.

I do agree with you though that she was a tresspasser. Declaring yourself a protester doesn't give you a right to be there.

You can use reasonable force against a tresspasser, was it reasonable force is probably the debate to be had.

I'm unsure how I feel about it. The fact I felt awkward watching it suggests perhaps it was over the top, but I'm not sure.

I don't think he deserves to be suspended from his job over it though. Not a proportionate response in my view.

She shouldn't have been there you're right but she was handing out leaflets at the point he decided to manhandle her out of the room. Was a touch excessive.

His response wasn’t proportional though. 250 people in a room looking at a woman handing out leaflets for 10 minutes and all I read is “she could have been armed”

She shouldn’t have been there, if she has committed an offence she should have been removed by the correct authority in the correct manner and charged in court.

TBH I have only seen stills. These protesters are getting on my tits a bit, it may be a good cause but asa country we at least try. There are a lot more out there that are worse, why not target them.
Also just because she had leaflets didn’t mean she didn’t have something else

If , as he claims, he thought she may be armed then surely he should have pinned her arms or wrestled her to the floor.

I’ve seen the video and personally I don’t think him escorting someone out should be the issue, I suspect it looks worse cos it was a female and held her by neck.
Would have more respect for him if he’d just said she shouldn’t be here so I took her out, instead of trying to hide behind the terrorist thing

Two things for me, he looked at bit OTT in his reaction but in the days of Jo Cox being killed, Corbyn Farage plus several other political figures getting assaulted to varying degrees recently along with the constant online incitement to violence against people of opposing political views then the reaction is understandable.

Secondly, the fuss seems to be he removed a woman by force, if this trespasser was a bloke we wouldn’t hear a beep other than well done.

MPs shouldn’t be subject to the same laws as us though. They should be allowed to take ANY action they deem fit against any member of the public. After all they have a mandate. They have been elected.

He is in the wrong - the fact she shouldn't have been there is irrelevant. You cant just grab someone by the neck and escort them out in that manner. True its got worse press because she is female but he was just wrong to act in that way.but in any case I bet he he wouldn't have done it to a 6"5 bloke

    He did right.

As much as I hate Farage and Tommy Robinson ( assault by milkshake) what if it had been something else?

Then we have Jo Brand suggesting certain people should have acid thrown at them .

    Poor security also.

Happens all the time in clubs and pubs up and down the country by doormen, with very rare consequences

So MPs should be above the law eh? So if an MP deems it appropriate to stab someone it's ok cos they're elected? Ok.

    Of course
If it was a black female labour mp and the protester was a Jewish male no one would give a damn.

Get over yourself. You’re not a victim.

He clearly committed an assault and if I’d done that I’d get the sack. Whatever colour I am

I don't feel comfortable watching it because it happened to a woman and it could have been dealt with better than it was. You're right it does seem a little excessive but in the political climate of today it wasn't wise to approach the floor in the way she did. I can understand why people may have felt a little nervous about the situation but like I said he could have handled it better than he did.

The security firm at the dinner have to answer some questions about this incident.

He did wrong. If he thought she might have been armed he was even more stupid. He should have either shouted for assistance (where was security?), legged it ( if he thought she might be armed) or, if he really wanted to be proactive got his body in the way and used that to try and obstruct. Technically he is in the wrong. All this stuff about the leafleter being female is irrelevant. She was a nob as well but his nobbery trumps her nobbery by 3 to 1 in my book.
