You and I would think that. The hard of thinking buffoons that actually have a vote probably see it as perfectly acceptable after all it’s what any folly who tangles with him would expect isn’t it.

It's on the front page of the BBC website, Whitey.
Much as I loathe and detest the man it sounds like it was just a domestic screaming match. More fool her for putting up with him but it doesn't really sound like anything to write home about. He's a tw*t. She told him he was. Anything to get rid of him would be welcome but I don't think this is it.

A neighbour has apparently recorded the incident and parts of the media have heard the
play back. Sounds as though Boris has ruined a settee by spilling red wine on it.
As it's Ms Symonds flat she can be heard saying that because he's been spoiled, he doesn't
    value anything.

He can be heard shouting " get off my laptop" and Symonds shouts " get off me and get out
of my flat." Police were called and left saying " everyone was well", no arrests were made.
When seen, surprisingly, neither Ms Symonds or Johnson were prepared to make any comment to the
    press. !

It was also on the BBC news at 10pm, but I think Whitey was referring to Sky, no?

    A) The timing, and source (a Guardian 'exclusive') of such a detailed report of this is somewhat suspicious
    B) The neighbour actually recorded it in the 'small hours' (Must have been one hell of a row to a) to pick all that up clearly through the wall, presumably using a mobile phone, most of which tend not to record sounds very well below a certain threshold and the fact that "the house shook") and then passed it to the Guardian!
    C) Neither 'protagonists' were prepared to comment
    D) The police left satisfied there were no problems.
As a minor observations... the BBC article states they have not heard the recording whilst quoting verbatim....from the Guardian.

Whatever you think of BJ, in the cold light of day' does all that not seem very 'fortunate' for the opposition in the race to be PM?

The police aren’t charging her for wasting their time so something happened that they are satisfied it was worth her calling them out to check. Different media may have different biases but I highly doubt that they would make up a quote whilst saying there is an actual audio recording if there wasn’t. I’m certain they wouldn’t make up a police quote either.

Ahh, he could have been. I get so used to the BBC being hammered I thought it was a blanket reference to all the media.

Fair enough JD, and I don't dispute it's existence, but one of my concerns is the claimed motivation for recording i.e. *"....we were concerned for the welfare of the female".

The cynic in me says the motivation was more likely … Hey BJ is having a bust up with his girlfriend, let's record it so we can sell it to the media. I may be wide of the mark but it is amazing how quick the said recording found its way 'EXCLUSIVELY"' to a 'left of centre paper' who, given their headlines lately are openly hostile to BJ/ Conservatives in general. Why, if your intentions were purely altruistic would you send the recording to the media?

Not defending BJ in any way, but the mud slinging headlining, seems a bit too convenient.

    It's plastered everywhere.
Main headline currently on Sky news and most of the tory rags.

Wow, headline news, Man has argument with his partner whilst alcohol is involved.
The world must be a great place to live in if that’s what the press have to lead with

No man got physical with his other half that's why the neighbour heard her shout get off me. It won't have been as bad as the Daily Mail are making out though. They are just upset that the husband of their columnist is no longer in the running for the PM job. They were the same yesterday going on about tactical voting that made sure Hunt beat Gove to second place.

Nobody knows he got physical or what the alleged comment of get off me meant
All any of us know is someone has claimed she said get off me, no one knows in what context?
Perhaps she self harms and he was protecting her from herself?
Perhaps he fell on her being a little clumsy?
Perhaps there was a spider on her and she has a pathological fear of Spiders?
    Perhaps he got physical?

I appreciate I’m being a little pedantic in my examples but all are feasible.
Ultimately the Police attended and was satisfied when they left, which means all it was is an argument.

If you think the future prime minister having a domestic with police called to his door isn’t news worthy id assume you’ve lived in a cave over the past few years. I know you won’t have. Just imagine if someone across the floor in opposition had been in the same situation.... my I don’t think we’d have ever heard the last of it, those meme generators would have gone doo dally

If there isn't a big row going on then there's nothing to record, regardless of motivation. But having seen the neighbours interviewed this morning they look like ordinary concerned folks, not political apparatchiks.

As for Field, as far as I am aware he was not a designated security person on the night and has basically engaged in an unlawful application of force. Common assault in my books.
