Reading the Chronicle again,it seems to infer that Daniel Stendel may not extend his contract, unless he's happy with signings. Two of the latest claim not to have met him. My concern is, will he be content with these signings or was he hoping for someone different? Events next week will bring clarity hopefully. Are the Chronicle part of the Media loop? They don't seem very informed or to have a close relationship with the club, often comment seems to be lifted from this forum. You see how important it is for organisations to control but have clarity when communicating their message. I work in Education, reading this post back it seems like a essay question. So a minimum of 500 words please and Harvard Referencing for any sources.
Gior. If that was the case that would apply to all clubs. So if he goes we would have been better back in div 1 (Given your logic) . When Clarky went he was replaced by Hunter. ( Best football ever under Hunter) Want Stendel to stay. But if and when he goes. We move on.
I reckon if you worry we're going to lose players and managers you're going to be permanently worried. And for good reason, we will. The only solution to this is not to worry. That doesn't mean you can't be pissed off when it happens, but that's easily cured by going for a run or having a rant or necking a pint or whatever is your thing. Worry gets into your bones and affects your health. Best just not to do it.
Presume Stendel is enjoying his holidays with his family and doesn’t want to be flying all over all the place meeting potential signings. I’m confident going by previous comments that he’s fully in the loop and given the seal of approval to all incomings.
He will either continue to do well and leave for a bigger club, or he will be sacked because we are struggling. That's football.
Stendel is still proving himself as a manager really, early signs are very good tho. We'l see how good he is in the coming season when we wont be dominating the majority of matches like we did last season.
In next weeks Chron I'll expect a report on what happened when @Terry Nutkins went round to see @Conan Troutman while wearing a @Young Nudger hat mask.
If he shines in the championship then of course he will move on. If he doesn't I reckon the owners will give him more time. Nothing has been said about any other clubs coming in for him so I assume he'll be back Monday ready to enthuse the team for the battle ahead. The fact Bahre has signed makes me think Stendel views next season as being Barnsley s manager
Try writing a really bad poem at 4am after a night of drinking & listening to music with one of your best pals. Works for me every time. Greetings from Kent. Lovely & sunny here!
When I set off on a long walk, one of the issues to consider is the weather. Temperature, rain, snow, wind - all of these affect my choice of clothing and equipment. Over the years I've found that the best thing to do before I set off is to worry about it. That really helps.
I think the comment about Daniel not signing an extension was first reported just after the end of the season in the Chronicle. From memory, he had said he was keeping his options open until he saw any signs that the Board would be bringing some new signings in. At that stage we knew that Jackson, Fryers and Isgrove probably were leaving and when the retained list was published, that proved to be the case. Most of us have speculated that Davies would go and with Lindsay not prepared to talk to the Board the signs were there that we could also lose him. We have now brought Thomas, Collins and Andersen in, so for me we are moving in the right direction. We don't know yet if there are others coming in, but Stendels talk about bigger grounds, bigger teams and " us" leads me to think he's hopefully not going anywhere. As for the Chronicle, I agree Kettlewell, Doug O'Kane doesn't appear to be as well connected as Steve and Andrew Lodge were, in that his Reds content is usually information that's already out there. For example Fridays edition reiterated that the Club have offered new deals to some players and were hoping that Pinnock and Thiam would follow Cam McGeehan and sign their offers. In another piece it reports on the Collins signing and also says we could be looking to replace Stoke bound Lindsay very soon.
I think people overstate the importance of the manager/ head coach. Ritchie was given god like status wouldn't strengthen despite Cryne publicly saying there were funds available. He was then linked with Sheffield Wednesday, the fluid play became naive we went on a shocking losing run and was sacked. We played some great stuff under Hecky from February 2016 until January 17. However, towards the end of his tenure it was some of the most turgid ***** I've ever seen. Then there's Stendel. Magnificent, swashbuckling, high pressing football. However, fact is football is a results driven business and shouldn't be managed by sentiment. If there's a prolonged run of bad results he'll no doubt be sacked. It's the nature of the beast. So I won't worry about him moving on while his stock is still high. I hope he stays and takes us to the Premier League but if he goes I'll wish him and the next guy well. Barnsley F.C was here before us and Daniel Stendel and will be here after we've gone.
