Yeah, just seen that. Feel a bit for Rotherham as they gave him a chance after injury seemed to be derailing his career. Pompey will be paying more money though and he'll be a good player for them if he can stay injury free.
https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...n-his-prime-after-leaving-rotherham-1-8977392 It's a step up from Rotherham if going on history and crowds, so I can see why the move appealed to him. He was barely injured during his time at Rotherham, which will have been a big plus for Pompey wanting him.
Rotherham have signed Freddie Ladapo for a club record fee from Plymouth not sure what their previous record was but not a bad signing that for rotherham.
I remember him, definitely a player with potential, wouldn’t be surprised if it clicks for him sooner or later & he has a very good season
I liked Williams. I thought it was a massive waste of money by the club to get him back to match fitness then let him leave without seeing him play regularly.
Seconded SD. The time and expense in getting him fit must have been considerable. To my mind he could have been used as a sub. He looked to be quite handy at Rotherham, so he still had something to offer.
As I recall it was Lee Johnson who decided he was surplus to requirements and called him out over injury.
They wanted him to stay..... https://www.themillers.co.uk/news/2019/may/read--millers-to-release-five/
