2nd day in a row that I've seen him running to training whilst on my way to work. Fair play to the lad I genuinely feel he's a player that despite two keepers coming in would want to fight for his place considering the taste of first team action he's had already with us.
Turned up for his first training session with the first team on the tracky bus and walked down to Oakwell.
Lots of time for him to get game time. one of the keepers signed is only for a season, so a year on loan in L1/L2 where he can get game time would be ideal & could then come back & fight for a place next summer.
If I were a goalkeeper I'd want to be playing every week. To the extreme that I'd consider going out on loan and staying at the perspective club should I become number one. As opposed to coming back and fighting for my place and being number 2. Then having to go out on loan somewhere else and start over. Horrible position goalkeeper because you're fighting for one shirt. It can be long career in terms of years but short one in terms of actual games played.
A seasons loan in the rough and tumble of L2 or the conference will be more beneficial than warming our bench. Which is whats going to happen.
