Had one in our garden today and the wife saw it whilst I was at work. She text me to say she videod it (which she did). Via text how would you respond?
Obviously you have to say "What are you worried about, you've played with bigger snakes than that regularly" - anything else and I'd be disappointed in you mate.
When driving through wroot a couple of years ago there were a couple of adders slithering across the road not sommat you expect to see in britain
Was playing cricket at Stainborough a few years ago, fielding in cow corner, the ball flew over my head and nestled in some long grass beyond the boundary. I scrambled down the banking to look for it, and quickly spotted it. But it wasn't alone. A snake was curled around it, and as I approached it stared straight at me. Suddenly it disappeared, and I remember being amazed at how fast it could move despite having no visible means of propulsion. I checked the ball for tooth marks, as I didn't want to be accused of ball tampering, and we played on.
Saw an adder a few years ago on a path close to Jack Charlton's old fishing pond at the back of the res.
remember going round there in 76 when the grass was really yellow and dry, there were loads of the things, the ones you couldn't see you could hear moving through the dryness, and on one memorable day I was stood in the water when one swam past brushing my legs ( well my waders but it was a big bugger)
I once crashed my car when a snake fell from a tree onto the car, straight in my line of sight, really shocked me. Bloody windscreen vipers..........
On a serious note adders are common in Britain especially down south. Grass snakes are everywhere and compost bins attract them.
At a calculated guess I'd say it was an adder il get mi coite.. Lol or had she being secretly eating these Haribo snakes...
