Two of them goalkeepers. Do you feel sorry for the fans? I don't, he who laughs last, laughs longest.
No I feel sorry for teams that do business the right way and Bolton are still allowed to play in the Football League.
I feel for the fans, it's not the bloke who travels hundreds of miles a season watching his team, or the fan who puts in extra shifts at is **** job so he can take his kids who have caused the train crash they are in, they have got absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the clubs demise
Good man. Totally agree. The club's mismanagement is not the fault of the fans at all. Yes, they enjoyed Championship survival when we dropped, but that's part of the fun of being a fan. I mean, Chien Lee could go out and sign Neymar, much to the excitement of us, the fans. But when the proverbial inevitably hits the fan, would it be fair on us that a club with 100+ years of history goes to the wall? So I will mildly smirk at their struggle, but really hope they pull through and survive this.
I don't feel sorry for the fans at all. They'll still have a club to support. Even if the current club goes bust a phoenix club will take its place. They may have to start in the Evo Stik league but so what? The league you're in shouldn't dictate the strength of your support. If it does you're not really a supporter are you! Nope, I'm hoping, for the good of the game, that they crumble. And yes there will be some job losses but long term there may just be fewer similar job losses and far fewer companies stiffed for outstanding debts if one or two examples are made of clubs like this.
I have more sympathy for Bury. Bolton have been in massive debt for a number of years but still signed players well beyond their means. Not the fans fault though
I always feel for genuine fans when their club goes tits up. I would like to think that most fans of most clubs are just regular blokes (and lasses) like I am who have their club as a way of expressing their feeling of community (just like me). Not their fault their club is badly run and screwed. I hope their club is safe and they get someone running it who looks after it properly for them.
If Gartside had got his way and the premiership became a closed shop I don't think their fans would have cried foul. They would have lapped it up at the expence of other clubs. No sympathy from me, can't wait to see them in the national league
Yes for the fans who have no control over what’s happened wouldn’t want it to happen to us. No for the owners serves they right for overspending!
Bolton, like all clubs, have some decent fans whom I do feel sorry for. The arrogant fans and the owners I have no sympathy for whatsoever. I also feel sorry for the small businesses, charities and the non playing staff who stand to lose money or their jobs. The club generally has been taking the pi55 for a long time now so it's difficult not to think that all of this is deserved.
Down the years, poor judgement and irresponsible financial mismanagement have brought them to point where they find themselves now. They left Burnden Park for their new ground in 1997 and due to travellers taking over their former home, they were unable to sell it , so their finances came under immediate pressure. As some have already said, the only sympathy you can have has to be for the fans who like the majority of us, don't have a direct say into how their Club should be run. The majority of their supporters have nothing but contempt for successive Boards, who did little to protect the interests or future prospects of their once proud Club and who can blame them.?
