I understand the policy and rightfully so we move on players that don’t want to be here.

However what doesn’t sit well with me and a large percentage of our fan base is the peanuts they’re going for.

There’s no justification in Pompey getting the same amount for one player as we did for our entire back line. Embarrassing really.

Disagree on Davies, easily replaced. Pinnock is a bit more tricky but I have faith in the spreadsheet

we don't know exactly but reported Lindsay £2m plus addons, £3m for Pinnock plus add ons. Davies, out of contract so nowt.

    Clarke, £3.4 milltion..

    I'd say we got more..

Been the worst ever this season for selling now it’s ridiculous. Stendel deserves better. We can’t even compete with Brentford now!

Honestly it’s for the best we do swap with Bradford and fight for a place in league 2

Hugely disappointed. If it's less than £3m on an initial fee, that's a disgrace. With so many supposed suitors, hold fire, sign your replacements and then hold out.

Pinnock is a fantastic player and that's a massive loss. Player of the year, EFL team of the year, players team of the year. Can't dress it up as good business in anyway shape or form.

I cant blame him for wanting more wages in the final year of a contract. I can blame a club for either having a stupid clause, or just not getting good value and hoping we benefit from a sell on from Brentford. Poor business.

Is that really the case? I was led to believe the Clarke deal was 5 million.

Still my point about the fees is the disappointing thing. I genuinely did think Pinnock would leave for our record fee. Maybe I’m silly but I did rate him that highly.

I knew this day would come and I shouldn’t really be shocked.

And to add to that, Clarke has signed for a Premier League team, always going to be more cash involved.
Obviously no premier league clubs were queueing up to sign up Pinnock otherwise yeah we probably would have got more.

Pinnock is a Londoner, he didn't pull up any trees when he last played in the Championship, he will be replaced. He is not as good as some folk think.

Sounds like the fee for clarke was £3.4, like anything else it has add ons which could take it to £5m but I'm guessing that would depend on lots of factors like with the Stones deal, playing for his country etc.. Always like Pinnock although he seemed a bit clumsy with his frst touch. I never thought he would make us masses of cash though, I reckon he will become a run of the mill championship defender but no further. Could be wrong though, good luck to him again did his job in helping us get out of league 1. Are you not looking forward to next season with the new signings? I can't wait for the first match, think we will end up being far more competitive than that relegation season. Solid foundations are being built on IMO.

Seems like these owners are like all who have gone before. Money grabbed. For God's sake we are trying to build a team.

He was near his "sell by date" so was put on the "reduced to clear" shelf. A system used in many places.

Furthermore, in allowing a release clause into a (relatively unknown, up and coming, hot off the spreadsheet) player's contract, you are automatically signing up to putting a ceiling on the price that you're going to get back on your investment.

If you value your recruiting system, and think you might unearth a real gem, why polish him up knowing you may be forced to sell him for a value less than you've turned him into?

And all because you agreed to do so, right at the start.

I'd be amazed if we'd agreed a £3m release clause, at today's prices. For Pinnock.

    Then again, it's Barnsley

Disappointing news, but for now I'll put my trust in the club to fill the gaps. My only concern is how quickly a new central defensive partnership can gel and get to grips with Stendel's footballing philosophy. That said, the high press is probably less of an issue for centre backs.

Fingers crossed we can still hit the ground running, because as we all know, the Championship is an unforgiving place. Hitting the ground hobbling won't do us any favours.

In Pinnock and Lindsay it was a massive gamble as well, could have been terrible.. All unknowns.. Nothing to say Pinnocks replacement won't be someone with championship experience already.

Jesus he made 9 starts was it spread out throughout the season. Hecky preffered Jackson Angus McDonald to him and even the lad we sold to Luton. Jose preferred matt mills and jackson to him.
Very harsh to judge him on his last spell in the championship.

He wasn't ready in the championship. Great with the ball, but not strong enough. His potential was there though. He is a different player now.

Not what I saw he was given the chance McDonald had a bust up away at reading I think Jackson got injured. Pinnock played v Preston at home he had a right game got man of the match he the scored the equaliser v reading and the winner away at the stadium of light and looked good he had got into the side I think hecky was liking him to be honest. He broke his toe in training hecky went to Leeds jose came in that.

I don’t believe there was a release clause, if there was why would journos be talking about add ons & how the fee can rise to a different amount?

Brentford wouldn’t be letting us have extra money for appearances & sell ons if there was a set fee they had to match to get Pinnock
