Not as bad as the Hecky one but I suppose DS hasn't had his whole team ripped apart, just his defence.
I'm assuming he's had some quality time off with his family during the closed season. Maybe it's just that post-holiday Monday morning feeling.
I agree. despite the concerns, Daniel is ultra positive and I reckon his mind set will be nothing other than this. pre season is of course crucial to player bonding and these new lads working together and Daniel has the ability to lead that successfully. bring it on.
Seems a bit downbeat As I have stated before it is now down to the board As things stand there’s a good £6m to be: ‘Reinvested into the playing staff’ or whatever rhetoric is used
End of day hes a head coach not a manager. The board run the transfer dealing and the spreadsheet. Daniel knew that when he took the job. He is given said tools and told thats what you have to work with. Its been the same for a long time now.....
Would he be happy with Matty James cos I would. Experienced yet only 27. Affordable? Not all the players have to have a sell on aspect especially when their role is to enhance the status of those around them by way of being the glue that holds it all together. Ie Matty James.
just seemed concerned that we don't have much experience now at CB - clear message to the board that we need to sign at least one experience championship CB.
Hard to tell from that interview. I thought that whilst the reporter was maybe dwelling on CB's Daniel was speaking more generally across the team. I personally would give the CB's some protection in front of them. i.e a Matty James type player.
OK, so I took the liberty of reading these comments BEFORE watching the clip. IMHO most of the interview looks like the words of a hardworking man who knew what it took in L1 and seems to know what is required to compete a level up. He also seems well prepared, seems to have a plan for pre-season and emits a sense of hitting the ground running. I would guess looking at the state of the players, that he has told them how to act over summer (fitness-wise) and they have adhered, because they look the part, early doors. But ......... from 4:25 to 4:40, that's where the warning signs are, if any. Clearly wants experience, and has others have intimated, clearly Pinnock was a surprise. Let's hope lessons have been learned and lightning doesn't strike twice. One, maybe two, deviations from the spreadsheet could be all that we need to have another fantastic season under a fantastic, switched-on coach. If big Keef goes, I will worry about Daniels position.
Viewers will make of this what they want but to me he appears more tired than depressed. I’m sure he would have preferred to keep the spine of the team but it’s his job to make the best from what he’s given. Same as it’s the boards job to keep us solvent.
Need a combative CB with games under their belt to replace Lindsay, I see Halme as Pinnock's replacement. Need someone to replace Lindsay. I think if Dougall is fit him & Mowatt would work well as a screen for our CB's. With Styles, McGeehan & Bahre as other options in the middle I'm fairly happy about our central midfield. Another striker would be next priority for me after CB.
I don't think we will. But let's be right, it's not beyond the realms of possibility. I never thought we'd sell both our first choice central defenders from last season, but it's happened.
