Certainly feels like Ethan Pinnock left ages ago.

I think most teams in our division are financially f*cked and are struggling for signings. It’s paying off to be well run..

All the ones saying it wouldn't be reinvested have disappeared, biggest signing still to come.

Chien Lee and Paul Conway haven't said so but to my mind if they are reinvesting "every penny" back into the club then there cannot possibly be any money for them to take out.

The only feesible way they can make a ROI is to get to the Premier League as far as I can see. I am so thrilled I could literally dissolve tonight!

I was very critical of our transfer policy during our last stay in the championship. It's never nice seeing players move on who we want to keep. But I am very impressed that the money is being put back into the playing staff. If just half of these signings come off we will have a very strong side. I also have the feeling we haven't done yet.

Get to the Premeir league or make the club more profitable so they can sell it at a huge profit. (Or both)

They won't be selling if we get to the prem, 200mil a year...plenty for new signings, contract extensions and the odd dividend share. Outsiders for play-offs if DS get them playing.

On all known facts and logic we have not got one player capable of operating at championship level.
Most are way below that level on all known form
I hope we win the league obviously and i will be there cheering them on.
but those are the facts of the matter
because of the parachute payments the championship looks like the top division of years gone by
the depth in the league is huge just look at all the ex premier league teams in there
to expect this many new players to gel in time and be up to this level and hit the ground running in what probably would be in most country's the premier league is a huge ask.
if we finish one place above relegation we should have a open top bus parade it would be that big a achievement

I honestly believe that is their intention to take Barnsley to the promised land and then their investment will pay off.

Slight exaggeration there. Even before the signings I was confident we d avoid relegation.

Add pinillos to that too. He was **** hot at forest until he left them, and he only left as he got a serious injury.

    You worded it wrong.
he left because they considered him no longer good enough i presume after two very bad injury's he was no longer the same player as before, whatever that level was i don't know
the other guy was shipped off on loan considered not good enough by the manager after making zero impact in said division.
your entitled to your opinion just because someone agree or disagrees with it doesn't mean its correct or wrong.

if you think sticking multiple pins in a spreadsheet and hoping praying the odd one comes good is the way forward that's fine.
suppose some people would rather buy 4 players others 8 players for same amount of money wages.
The teams that have tried it and all the studies says it fails at this level
should be interesting i will give you that.

Looking at it with a couple of days' hindsight, I think that the board (especially Paul Conway) has handled the whole transition to the Championship really well so far. They have kept fairly tight-lipped as to the players we have been chasing; have done everything possible to enhance the contracts of the best players from League One and have been true to their word in re-investing any 'profit' made on players sold. Paul Conway is not having a go at fans who were starting to complain about our selling some of our best players, such as Pinnock. It is obvious that every effort was made to retain him and that he was not sold until adequate replacements were secured. Well done, PC! I think that he also realises that there is a media-message which the club needs to get out there regarding player recruitment and sales, which is the realisation that many fans were left feeling cheated by the previous Championship cherry-picking of our best players and the impossible situation in which this placed Paul Heckingbottom. I for one think that the board has handled the public relations side of this really well, at the same time as demonstrating to the fans that they are being true to their word regarding recruitment. The blue-print is clear and a great deal more robust than under Paul Heckingbottom just a couple of years ago. So, I say, well done the board and PC in particular. Exciting days ahead.

Why are they here? I wouldn't have thought there's much money to be had, so I'm not sure it's that (although it might be) but I can't think of another reason either.
