CRAIG LEVEIN admits that Aidy White would have been out of Hearts’ league if not for his injury nightmare. The Tynecastle manager accepts that he has taken a gamble on the former Leeds United and Barnsley player, who has not managed a competitive match since January 28, 2017 due to a debilitating groin complaint; however, the 27-year-old is back in full training and has been earning rave reviews during Hearts’ Irish training camp for his pace and wicked delivery.
That’s great news. Proper decent lad and a total pro. Wish him well. If he could stay fit for a full season, he’d probably still be with us - still not that old.
Wish the best for Aidy... Good player and gutting for him that he missed out on 2 matches at Wembley with us.
I was certain he missed it, but I've just checked and you are right. Correction... Gutted for him to have missed the Millwall game at Wembley
Quality player. The link up with him and Hammil, one of the best I've ever seen. Wish nothing but the best for the lad.
Levein's comments go towards underlining how low the standards of football in the Scottish Premier League have really become. He does indeed say that if he hadn't have been injured, Aidy would probably have been out of their league, but also that they were hoping that they could secure the services on a permanent basis of Norwich striker Steven Naismith, who at best, has had a "patchy " career south of the border. He's 33 in September and over three seasons he's scored six in forty four appearances for his present Club Norwich and by the sounds of it, he will be Hearts star man this upcoming season. As we know, at the end of the day, it all comes down to money and by the sounds of it, Clubs North of the Border like a lot in England, are not awash with it, which is a real shame. Reading this morning that Pogba wants to leave Man Utd. The fee to Real or Juve and his wage demands are positively obscene. As we've said times many, the game has truly gone mad.
Fond memories of his partnership with Hammill down the flank a pure joy to watch. Wish him all the best and hope he can stay fit
Great lad. Before this move he’s still been living in Barnsley & I’ve met him a couple of times & he’s a nice fella. I hope he has an injury free run & gets back to his best. On another note plenty of ex-Reds about in the Scottish league at the minute with Hedges at Aberdeen, Hecky, Mallan & Jackson at Hibs & now White at Hearts
Really liked Aidy marauding down the left - a fabulous partnership with Adam. Hope he stays injury-free - he’s a really good player
