    Hello from Germany,
    my name is Carsten - we (local German team VfB Hüls) host the friendly game Bochum - BFC in Marl/Germany. If I can help you in travel questions or stadium somehow.... please let me know.

    We are happy to welcome you. Marl is like Barnsley an old mining town (last coal mine closed in 2015) with old and new industry. If necessary I can also organize city tours for the morning - if desired.

    Greetings from Marl
    Carsten

    It appears marl is 20 mikes from Bochum, Alan bloore has shared the above from a guy called Carsten Schwarma. There is a Facebook event page for those that are in there etc

    He sounds a bit "George Spicer ".
    What can he tell us about the size of a German sausage?

    Hi Marl that is very kind of you to welcome Barnsley fans to your town.
    I spend a lot of time in Germany unfortunately it will be 23rd July when I travel through Germany towards Munich.
    I am sure the fans who visit your town for the game will be pleasantly surprised with your hospitality.
    Germany is a lovely country , I am sure the fans will enjoy the quality of the beer and the quality of the food at reasonable prices.
    Don't be temping our talented your manager home he is adored in Barnsley.

    Speed actually can be.
    Freddie Mercury, for example, once reached a top speed of 28 blokes per hour.
    He even wrote Don't Stop Me Now on the strength of it.

    Note Bazza. Nothing meant by it.
    Marl = town
    Carston = Welcoming person.
    Pompey red = poster.
    Welcoming gesture and great reply Bazza but not sure Carston will pick up your comment via this avenue. If I'm talking ******** forgive me as I'm a technophobe. Don't know if you can get message to him via Facebook
    PS would have loved to be there. But will be on my jollies. Am aware of a few travelling over.
