Could be a blocked filter, can leak if the impeller is trying to pump out water but it can't flow to drain. Or it could be a loose hose/connection at the pump. Usually find filter at the front, and should unscrew to allow access to see if anything is blocking it. Put a tray under it though, can be quite a bit of water coming out. Our last washer used to get hairclips, coins etc blocking it regularly. And colour catcher sheets can be taken through and block it.

You can also get water running to the bottom from the powder/softener drawer, sometimes overspill if pipe to the drum is blocked or again check any hose connections if you can get to them.

If you have the model number, see if you can see anything on YouTube for accessing the filters etc.

Tricky question this mate. In order to answer it I would need some context to know who "they" are. The only thought that originally came to mind was they might be doing some washing but then I remembered Vic Reeves singing Dizzy in 1991 where he used a load of washing machines as a stage prop in a pop video. :D:DSeriously, if you dont know, turn it off and call in someone who does to fix it. I know someone who electrocuted themselves trying to fix one. Stay safe

Could be coins blocking the filter,,,,,,, careful though, the authorities take a very dim view of money laundering.
