To see that the bottle fizz is still alcoholic based meaning that Rashid and Ali cannot fully involve themselves in the celebrations .
Why sad? A lot of people besides Muslims don’t drink alcohol. Sure they don’t worry about not being able to celebrate owt without booze.
It didn’t look like they missed much, they simply got out of the way when it was being sprayed about.
It's not something to be sad or offended about. Muslims aren't allowed to ingest alcohol, whether by mouth or via skin... I'm sure they werent arsed about it and people would've probably whinged if they'd made it non-alcoholic just to cater or Adil and Moeen. Enjoy the win, it really is a non-story!
Plenty of Muslims drink alcohol. I was at a wedding in Turkey a few years ago. Beer followed by wine followed by raki. Full on.
I'm just assuming that you're a Christian of some kind, but have you ever thought about what sort of things you do that are against "your religion"? Not all muslims are crazy fanatics, you know, most of them are just ordinary people with common sense.
It wasn't against the original teachings of Mohammed, but brought in later as too many worshippers were turning up to evening prayers drunk. (or so a Muslim friend told me).
Haha Tomi no i'm not in the slightest bit religious. I have some very good pals from muslim backgrounds. It's just not the done thing. None of them are fanatical! Haha
Not disagreeing with you. Just stating that it is a more recent interpretation of the rules. Although I know a few that do drink alcohol, so probably less than that figure - especially among the younger generation that are British-born.
Most pissed I’ve ever got was at a wedding in Pakistan. And that was before they started on the Bhang. Mentalists.
