Oh dear. Odds on favourites, and listening to some pundits, I got the feeling they thought it was a formality. Need some strong resolve now because it's a bowlers day.
I put a fiver on New Zealand before the tournament started - 11/1 seemed generous as they made the last final, I still want England to win, but at least I'll trouser some cash if not
boult still 3 overs left, expensive in the context of the game so far, but a brilliant death bowler my bums squeaking
Crazy ending. Stokes deserved his luck, but boy did he have some at the end. Fielder caught him and then stepped onto boundary for 6, and then he gets 2 runs and ball bounces off his bat and away for an extra 4! You couldn't make it up!! Well done England, but feel for the Kiwis, nowt between them, but someone has to be the loser.
Well it doesn't sit right with me, New Zealand 241 for 8 England 241 all out that's a result in favour of New Zealand, I get the drama, I get the fervour, but, England get the trophy by seemingly playing slightly inferior cricket
A great analogy but we've been brainwashed into believing that that's ok but logically it just isn't , it's a media/money mirage I'm afraid, and let me be honest I've been took in just like every other sports supporter.
Not really. Wickets are a resource, and England used them in the run chase. Inevitable really that the side batting second in a situation like that will lose more wickets.
