well I thought it was going to be dePfeffel with his car crash interview with A Neil and pathetic sucking up to the racist with the temperament of a toddler across the Atlantic amongst other things but no we have a late challlenger

Just when we had a full day of forgetting about Brexit and politics for a moment up pops Victorian wannabe Jacob Rees Mogg with the following little gem about England winning the World cup without needing Europe ( and no I dont follow him on Twitter )

Leaving aside the shameless attempt to hijack a moment of national triumph for political points scoring its an abject fail as people queued up to point out that captain of the side is from the Irish Republic which last time I looked was very much part of Europe

Also many others pointing out that the benefits of immigration with our Man of the Match being a Kiwi and match winning bowler being of West Indian origin. Not to mention contributions from Muslims with a Pakistani background, our best batsman in the series being of South African background etc etc...

As said in many other places and already on here last nigh - these Immigrants coming over here winning us world cups...

Just like '66, we did without Europe then.

A proper English victory. Aided by a Russian linesman...

I doubt anyone could come up with anything as stratospherically f***ing outright stone cold ignorant as what Jacob posted yesterday.
It's deservedly getting him ridiculed. Rarely have I read anything so pathetic, opportunistic and misinformed. He's a cretin.

I don't think politicians go fishing for bites. I think he made a shameless attempt to hitch brexit onto the bandwagon of an England success but failed to ask himself this..."do I have sufficient knowledge on the subject matter to not make myself look stupid with my comment?"
Clearly he didn't have enough knowledge because his comment was guaranteed to bring scorn down upon his head.
    Still, who needs experts eh?

    The cynical point is...
he’s well educated and knows that England is in Europe, and will remain so

His tweet was aimed to attract the knuckle draggers who don’t differentiate between Europe and the EU whilst winding up the multi culturalists he sees as do-Gooders that he wants to be seen as an opponent of.
