So actually 4 categories then though no complaints about the £20 matches. Only one Category A game in the first half of the season and I am only expecting one in the second half.so really the pricing isnt too bad - though why we didnt just charge £25 per game and have exceptions for the special deals like Luton and WBA (and if we must exceptions for sides with stupid pricing like Leeds) is a bit beyond me
So pretty much as everyone thought it would be then. Can’t believe folk complained about the Cat A games - we knew it’d be only 2-3 games tops, with Leeds and Weds being 2, and poss Hudds the 3rd.
I wouldn't say 'we' did. I was getting pelters on here for suggesting there'd only be two Cat A games all season. Terrific pricing effort from the club if you ask me. Introduction of 'Twenty is Plenty', only one Cat A game, and where clubs have priced us at £30/£32 we've gone in as Cat B and £28.
I too was ridiculed for saying there’d be two cat A games. Leeds and Wednesday. Huddersfield won’t be, they’ll do a reciprocal deal, they won’t want to charge their fans a fortune with their structure. Well done to all, I’m certain that these prices will be amongst the fairest in the whole league.
True. Ok, most sensible folk must have realised it’d be only 2 games. Leeds and Weds. Only potentially Hudds being the 3rd, but historically us and Hudds have always been ok.
I'm looking forwards to West Brom already. They have great fans and will probably sell out and we'll have a bumper crowd at that price, should be a fantastic atmosphere. I love Boxing Day games at home!
Huddersfield will be Cat B when they come to us I reckon. We'll probably pay £30 or £32 when we play there.
This is for the first 13 games. Wonder what will be the thinking for the remaining games 1) if we are top. 2) if we are bottom.
Similar. Our pricing won't change but we can't announce games so far in advance in case the opposing clubs change their agreements. For scenario two you're probably looking at one off discounts or multi-buy tickets (not flexi) but who knows.
Even more reductions to get the crowd behind the team. At the top or bottom you do what you can to make the ground full to give you an extra home advantage.
Well not much comment on this seen as the owners have pretty much issued the cheapest average pay on the day tickets in the league for the 1st half of the season. Plenty of comments on this though... http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/category-ticket-prices-again.280745/
You'll never know if it was the very complaining that steered the club into making it so few A games (up to press) next season.
I think they should take a leaf out of Sky's book and do some games as Barnsley Box Office. The Leeds and Wednesday games wouldn't be included in someone's season pass. How could anyone complain.
It was the same last time categories were introduced, its only ever going to be Leeds/Sheffield games and the exception of a big club down thats doing well, like Newcastle that would be the top cat. But rather than wait until the cats are announced some folk are already waiting to fire a shot at the club.
Dodworth Rover predicts 5 cat As on that link saying "at least". 3 have been announced - he's got two of them wrong. Although l don't know how Stoke is a C and Bristol City a cat B, would have them the other way round.
