I thought it was green and flashing with sarcasm. I wonder how many would think the pricing was so great if that was the case.
I for one was critical of the club when they announced the ticket prices. I couldn’t believe a team from a working class town like ours who are just starting to reconnect with its fan base would charge such extortionate fees, especially when we mocked teams like Leeds and Sheff Weds for doing so to their own fan bases. And I for one was very wrong. In fact if more clubs were run like ours we wouldn’t be paying more then 20 quid a fixture. I got the wrong end of the stick in regards to the ticket pricing and for that I hold my hands up and apologise. Also well in Luton and West Brom. You reds.
Your constant moaning about the ticketing situation is bordering on the ridiculous. If the club gave you a free season ticket in the east upper (on the halfway line) and offered you a complementary drink every game, well would still be on here fecking moaning that something ain't right because that's the sort of person you are. I bet you're one of these people that goes out for a meal and causes a scene, complains about the whole lot just for a freebie. The club cannot cater to every fecking individual. If it's that bad then stay away permanently
1 match at nearly 40 quid is one too many. We need to be part of the solution not party of the problem. Twenty is plenty.
Huddersfield are charging 30 quid pay on the day if any tickets are available, so that's what we will be charged if we don't come to a deal with them. With only half the usual tickets available these days, they will still sell out at that.
Out of interest, would you have expected Bolton to be class A last time around? The second set of fixtures are not announced yet and there are a few teams in that batch who, if they are doing well, could bring a lot of fans, thus Cat A. I respect your conviction that there will be 2x class A but I am thinking more likely 3.
But it’s not... I don’t know why you have such a hatred towards the fans that support the club the most. I genuinely don’t know what you want the club to do. You’ve moaned about everything the club has tried for years, including flexi tickets. Essentially a £21 average for the first 13 games of the season and you’re still not happy.
Agree SD. Where I worked , Sandwell College was one of our customers. It's right in the heart of West Bromwich. Our contact was a massive Baggies fan. Don't really know whether he had our names programmed into his landline, but whenever I used to ring him, instead of giving his name, he would greet me with " boing boing" which always made me laugh. For some of our home games with the Albion, he booked a hotel overnight with his mates. Don't know where they stayed but whenever we had a group meeting in Wakefield he could be heard telling other delegates how beautiful the outlying countryside in Barnsley area was. He always looked forward to the last away game of any season when the majority of Baggies fans used to dress to a particular theme. From memory, I seem to recall they once rocked up at Oakwell sporting beach wear, with some carrying beach balls and lilos. They appeared to be a really good set of fans who really do enjoy their football.
I think the club should let everyone in for free every game, after all we are run by billionaires, free entry, a few points paid on and a taxi home for everyone.
It’s not about how many fans they can bring to us. It’s about what they charge our fans to visit them.
It’s based on what our fans are being charged, so it isn’t a case of which order you would have them in terms of profile, fan base, etc. It’s just about reciprocal pricing. If Leeds would have agreed to charge our fans £23 they’d be Cat C.
Barnsley are 1-0 down to Wednesday at half time. Wednesday are awarded three points, the bookies pay out on a Wednesday victory and everyone goes home. Meanwhile Farmer Giles' hens lay three hundred eggs and he records he has three hundred chicks. The two £20 games are very much appreciated. The extrapolation on the 50% of results that are in is conjecture.
So our fans get ripped off for going to Elland Road and as a thank you for their loyalty we also rip em off at Oakwell. Who what where when? You are aware the average Leeds fan has no control over what the latest idiot who runs em charges
I'm trying to make people think from the point of view of others, hence the "Sky Box Office" analogy. It's easy to brush it off, when you aren't in the position where you have to pay the £36. I don't care whether it's 2 matches or 22, it shouldn't be happening. I don't hate season ticket holders, I am critical of the club's ticketing policies. They have consistently over-incentivised season tickets and done half baked things for match by match fans. If someone could go to the first 13 home games, they would be a season ticket holder anyway. The average depends on which games a match by match fan can go to. If they are a £36, two £28s and two £23s, the average ain't going to be £21. It's great that they've managed to negotiate a couple of £20 games, but it doesn't excuse them for the £36 ones. It's wrong.
