    I left Barnsley the first chance I could, unfortunately having friends, family and a football club in the area means I often return and see the pitiful state of the place. I have no desire to represent Barnsley or its populace whatsoever, I generally try to avoid any association with the shithole.

    If you hate the town as much as you seem to do then you shouldn't support the club that represents the same town, i'm not sure i'd want people with attitudes like yours in the home ends anyway.

    Am I the only one who loves Barnsley? Last autumn I was in both Seattle and Vancouver. Both places heaving with tourists looking at all the attractions, including people openly injecting themselves on the streets, people sitting themselves at our table as we were eating and asking us for money so we could enjoy our meal in peace, gangs running through Pike Place market helping themselves to food from the stalls, police charging after them, beggars approaching us on trains and physically touching us while doing so, and entire families living in filthy conditions in tent communes on city centre pavements. Now that's what I call a shithole.

    Actually I think you'll find the majority are angry, miserable sorts, still wrapped up in their hatred of the Conservatives, bitter at the world. It always makes me laugh when I hear folk whinging at games.

    I don't feel the club represents or has anything really to do with the town, most of the players aren't from Barnsley, and now the owners definitely aren't either. If it were to represent the town accurately we'd need drugged out vermin laying around the six yard box, dilapidated, filthy surroundings, and we'd never stop complaining about events of forty seasons ago.

    Getting angry isn't going to make Barnsley any less of a shithole.

    The lads gone straight on ignore for me. Talks about Barnsley folk being negative while in the same post being overly negative towards the town and its people. He must have hated having Cryne as the owner, Heckingbottom as the manager and Roberts as the captain.

    Hypocritical none-sensical ********, just like the political party he probably votes for.

    I live in Surrey now, have done for 30 years due to my job, but still enjoy coming back to tarn and seeing friendly people. Some areas are rough but believe me some areas down here especially on the fringes of London are just as bad. Even Windsor opposite the castle has beggars/homeless on the main street

    Wow! You probably think you're a decent person really, and possibly you are. But do you ever read back what you've posted and think "I wonder what people will think of me when I post that?"

    I know you won't care, but I've been on here for for over 14 years and I have to say I don't think I've ever come across such insulting crap about my beloved home town in all that time.
