    My boyhood hero. Got to know him as a fan. Used to correspond with him when he left for Newcastle, and also when he went back to Chile. I still have letters I received from him, as well as Christmas cards, autographed pennants etc. A really nice, unassuming man.

    They studied at Barnsley college, mining of course with me father who was doing surveying on day release. He thought George was a top bloke. Anyways I shall chip in.
