https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-england-london-47216594 I was in Soho that day.. I do agree to a point though mate. Public decency across the board for everyone.. including gym monsters in speedos.. Few years ago, Westminster Council were accused of homophobia for refusing to allow covered cottaging sites in the old squares around Bloomsbury.. Quite rightly refused.. I have gay friends. Most are disappointed, even disgusted by the hedonistic show offs.. Celebrating sexuality was fine in 70s & 80s, but laws & acceptance have been around a long time now.. The idea of a young person 'coming out', is a different & difficult thing to appreciate & understand. Even though my own Dad thought I was a puff for a few years. Cause I was different & didn't feel I had to prove anything. Still different & nowt to prove..

Sincerely hope it's a genuine account and not someone being a WUM.
Were you with Wadds? Wasn't he out with some gay workmates that night and left Admiral Duncan not long before the bomb went off (or is my memory playing tricks)
I don't I don't think so, Paul. I met Paul W & London Tykes, that year. But was definitely by myself. It was my first year at Chelsea fine art degree. I'd been there & was on my way home to Tufnell Park. It was a Saturday & art school work shop was less busy. Tried to change buses on Charing Cross road.. was closed off from Piccadilly..Circus.. Graduate year, 9/11. At Chelsea again. Roads shutting both sides of my 19 bus route. Everyone gathering around caretakers office tv. I really didn't understand the enormity of that day, until I changed buses at Kings Cross & met pals from British Library. Fcking he'll, mate. I think some lads know. But closet dodge was 2007. I was volunteering at the Foundling Museum in Bloomsbury. I have an interest in those histories, as you know. Rolled up on the 17 bus down the Grays Inn Road. I really didn't hear anything , but it was only 200 yards & 5 minutes away. We didn't open the museum & I went on phone duty, until every member of staff & fellow volunteers, were accounted for..They all were. Then we all had to walk home.. It seemed like there was always something going on .Andy Reed & I had been there since summer '88. Still teenagers, I think. We dodged the lot.. Cheers, Paulie..
The Gay Footballer appears to have had second thoughts and deleted his Twitter account. No idea if that was an elaborate hoax or not.
Got to be a hoax. Someone realised they had taken it too far and backed out. Would have my full support if genuine but was suspicious from the get go.
Dunno what would be worse. If it's some oddball that's responsible for a hoax or it's a similar story to this....... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9557810/premier-league-star-gay-club-fans/ Jim White has been getting some stick for this tweet....... He's either been had by the person by chatting through online chat such as DMs or he's spoke to the person so therefore knows who's behind it. Be interesting to see how long it takes White to confirm if it's a hoax or legit.
Couldn’t agree more Redhelen, just having to announce it is a retrograde step, each persons sexuality should be privy to them, and nothing to do with anyone else
Unfortunately this is what you now find when you click on the original account. There was always a danger that Football Twitter was behind it and that now appears to be the case.
