Dead warm. Too warm? It's starting to cause chaos with the public transport and where i work they're taking the lads off site due to the extreme temperatures.
I work in a glass production factory with 200 degree Lehr’s, around 10 degrees (maybe more) inside the work place than outside. They wouldn’t even think about letting us leave work.
Rampant unrestricted capitalism which has led to rampant unrestricted consumerism I'm afraid . Enjoy the weather while you can because nothing's going to change anytime soon .
Never sin waaarm until you've worked on a coking oven in this weather, took my own reading 56c, did we stop working? No chance shag.
Just done a 5k for cancer research up emley.. big work event. scorchio especially for me carrying too much timber.
Whats record for temperature in Barnsley, ive got 35 degrees on my phone app, but sure it hit 36 in 2005 or something
Was reading 44 in car at Finningley at 16:00. All the way home with air conditioning on full read 38 until I hit Cortonwood and then it dropped to 37. I like it hot but this is too much, like being in Florida before a hurricane hits. When bringing in your bins feels like running a marathon you know it's not good!
German employment law limits the time you can spend in an environment over certain temperatures. Some of those quoted in this thread would shut it down except for emergency work only.
Been sat slumped in a corner of Kings Cross for two hours. Only one departure past Peterborough in that time (nearest stop was York), St Pancras is just as bad. Chances of getting home tonight are probably around 50-50. Chances of getting a seat are somewhat less.
I kept a careful eye on the live departures web site before I left my air-conditioned office today - I thought there might be some delays at Waterloo, but it was largely OK. On the plus side, lots of lovely summer dresses on display today.
