Boris seems to have given up on the net migration target.

I don't argue with your reasoning, but it will take a lot of investment in training to bridge those gaps and time. I don't see anyone other than Labour who addressed that in their last manifesto, one that supported a Brexit that delivered for the many, not the few. That Brexit ain't happening with Boris.

Just out of interest, how many of the million unemployed failed to reach a minimum GCSE pass mark in English or Maths? How many of them are unwilling to put in the required level of effort that employers need? If someone is unable to attain 18% in the GCSE maths exam and not willing to graft to make up for it, what exactly are they able to do?

Of those million, how many are in the 500K+ that are alcohol dependent? Or the similar figure that have used illegal narcotics? How many are ex-offenders?

I suppose what I'm saying is, how many of those people are capable and willing to actually work?

[. I've heard many on here saying people who voted Brexit are far right ( 16 million racists, wow) so by definition if you voted remain are you far left ??[/QUOTE]

That is a very specious argument.

You do know that the current proportion of unemployed is largely considered ‘full employment’?

I’m frankly flabbergasted by the constant discussion of ‘skilled workers’, there are millions of unskilled foreign workers here doing jobs that need doing. Even if we could force 1million further brits into work, we’d still be short of workers by several millions.

The reason we didn’t make it difficult for people to come is because the economy needed more workers than we had.

I think, like many others, you’ve misheard that suggestion and, like many others, have used it to fit the agenda that suits you. Let me reiterate; not all Brexit voters are racist, but all racists voted for Brexit.

Absolutely, I wouldn't believe for one minute they would vote to remain, like the ones who voted to remain are not all lefty's but I would imagine all the far left voted to remain

Not sure what we're all arguing about. Boris is in command now. Trouble is, none of us know whether he really intends to try and crash out no deal on Halloween or whether this is just tough talk to get changes. Equally, none of us knows whether the Hammond/Gauke/Grieve/Stewart/Benn/Cooper axis can actually prevent no deal, whatever their wishes. It's all up in the air, so far as I can see. No answers until September at the earliest, and possibly much later. Bugger all any of us can do about any of it - whichever way our sympathies lie.

Yep . 100% correct . Most western countries simply don't have enough children these days to replenish their population hence the craze for immigration . As I said in an earlier post what happens to all the EU countries loosing workers hand over fist ? What do they do when workers start to run dry because of outward immigration ? The whole point of the EU was to stop European countries competing against each other but it seems it's created the polar opposite .

Most people in the far left not mainstream Labour but SWP etc probably voted leave. They have been fervent lexiteers before Euro scepticism was invented. Many follow the Bennite school which argued that the EEC / EU was undemoratic.

It's completely arbitrary and not fit for purpose.

Did you know that a Lithuanian citizen can bring his entire family to settle with him in the UK for free, even if they are not EU citizens themselves? But I, as a UK citizen, do not have the automatic right to bring my own wife to the UK, despite the fact that she's bilingual, qualified to Master's degree level, and is the mother of a British child. And if we do want to chance our arm at getting her UK residency, it will cost us several thousand pounds in various fees. Absolutely fcking bonkers. And I'm a remainer, by the way.

    I love Lithuanians ;-)

In all fairness, I'm yet to find/experience a single service that is linked to Government or the public sector that not only is efficient and based on common sense, but is even close to delivering what its supposed to do.... and the outsourced ones to crapita are even worse (and I didn't think that would be possible!)

Our council has just started charging an annual charge for a garden waste bin (so yet another big bin for a very small terraced house front area). £30 a year (though £25 for the first as a shortened period). We got a sticker within 2 weeks, 7 weeks later, we're still without the bin despite 3 calls and 3 no marks who did well to know what the day was let alone how to access an account, find information and speed up the thing. That's nothing to do with migrant workers.... but I felt a tangent to allow me to chunter just how useless we generally are in this country.
