The ref and the liner both made a few poor decisions but weren't shocking overall. Fulham nearly scored from a free kick 2nd half conceded by Wilks which was very harsh...
Another ref might have been fooled into giving fulham a penalty in the 1st half. What I found annoying was him not allowing a couple of quick free kicks and an advantage when we were attacking. I thought the rules changed about that? But I didn't come away thinking the ref was poor.
I'm not saying he got everything right. Overall he helped the game flow and wasn't biased. I do think he could actually have booked McGeehan first half as well as their guy who did get yellow but he didn't. Decent ref overall and if he comes back Ill be ok with it. Opinions eh?
I know I should get out more, but I think the ref was Andy Davies. He officiated when we played away at Fulham in Jan 2017, I think it was the game after Winnall was sold. We were doing OK up to just before half time when he gave a penalty to Fulham. I still don't know what the offence was, but no one appealed at the time. Anyway, how Statto is that for a memory........?
Thought it was supposed to be that Aussie bloke from A league? Unless he was linesman didnt look like the bloke from the viral video
Think you need a new watch mate . Started timing as soon as 90 minutes were up. 4 n1/2 minutes. Nearly .
Yeah was looking forward to seeing the Aussie ref have a go but he was absent, maybe he left his PE kit in Australia.
Took my nephews who live in London so obviously one supports Man U other at least supports West Ham their local team. First thing they said to me was how bad the ref and officials were. I mentioned we’ve had a lot worse. Quite a few poor decisions I thought Fulham got more than us but I suspect a Fulham fan might see it the other way round. He had to book Wilks but I thought the Bambo booking incredibly harsh especially when he had a moment earlier not booked their guy who chopped Cavare down when he halted play with McGeehan clean through should have booked their striker for diving in our box
For me the officials were excellent. I thought the ref had a good control of the game while demonstrating a lightness of touch. Best I've seen for some time.
Interesting how views differ! For me, he was close to bias - Cam was virtually through when he blew to bring the play back - Cauley chopped by 2 but played on to give Fulham a chance to score. No, I’ll not sit on the fence - biased!
It was 4mins 27 seconds I timed from kick off and was showing my Dad how much over we were when he eventually blew. It was fair though as we made a sub in injury time so an extra 30 seconds should have been added
I've always thought that someone should take a yellow card for the team for persistent fouling. For the last 15 minutes or so, every time we tried to get up the pitch, our progress seemed to be halted by such tactics. The ref blew for the offences, but no cards were shown, so it just continued, and as long as it was still 1-0 Fulham were still in the game. Pretty straight forward stuff, but lost on the officials.
That was a very very poor decision. It was a perfectly clean challenge from Wilks. Pretty sure the linesman gave it rather than the ref.
To be fair we only had ourselves to blame for not getting fouls with the amount of times we tried to waste time. If I was a ref I’d be a bit suspicious & not as willing to give fouls as well
As usual, their players got away with cynical shirt pulls, crafty trips and rugby tackles without a single booking and we got 2 yellows for simple fouls. The two worst decisions (other than the penalty) were the free kick awarded to them for an excellent tackle by Cavare and not playing the advantage when we were in possession and had 2 players in excellent positions on the edge of the box.
