He had a good game but was nowhere near MOM for me. He was too one-footed for a lot of the game and needs to be looking to cut inside and use his right instead of always going outside on his left. Fulham's full back was making sure he couldn't get a cross or shot in with his left and Wilks didn't have a plan B when he was forced to use his right. He'll also pick up a few reds with his attitude. Once he's settled down and matured then his game can improve as much as Cavare's has but in the meantime he'll be an accident waiting to happen.
He looks like a c0ck sure arrogant *****. Which is just what we need. For too long we have had teams of polite young men who don't play the ref or draw fouls from opponents. He gives us a much needed bit of an edge. First impressions - very good.
I can't remember the Reds ever having such an aggressive winger as Wilks. He certainly won't be intimidated by the opposition. Skill and both strength are a rare combination. The whole team was a joy to watch today.
Instagram showed his celebrations with Diaby and Cavare in the changing room. He may not have wanted to leave Leeds but I reckon he may well be glad he did. He certainly showed why we pestered him to sign!
Reminds me of Vaz Te. Gives us a real outlet from goal kicks. Think he’ll score a fair few headed goals this season.
We’ve been crying out for someone who knows how to cheat for years. Finally we’ve found a replacement for Nathan Doyle.
The difference being that Wilks also appears to know how to play football, rather than just how to run around and kick people.
I understand the booking, but I bet if you counted the actual time he wasted it’s not as much as many of the goalkeepers wasted last year at oakwell taking goalkicks and got away with it Scott free.
