Good to hear its completed. After initially being sad to hear this last week i thought about it and 4 million and in end was worried for if it didn't go through. I think we'll finish above Wigan anyway
Very terse summary on our website. No reason to dispute " expressed a desire to leave", so in the circumstances, we appear to have done the right thing. You can ill afford to have any player in and around our squad who's heart is not fully in it ( remember the negativity around Yiadom when he said he wanted away.)? Enthusiasm is infectious and vital to any teams " togetherness", so for me, any disappointment over losing Moore was tempered when I read the piece on our website by Luke Thomas saying the whole team are "buzzing." Long may that feeling prevail. Just need a quality signing now to replace Moore and we should be OK, as any injury to Woodrow could be very damaging to our future survival prospects. As for publishing a fee, maybe it's done to prevent a rival establishing a benchmark figure around what we might look to be prepared to accept for a player. Depending on which site you look on, Moores fee appears to be anywhere between £3 to £4 million, which given what we were reported to have paid for him, is not really a bad return.
Not wishing him to fail. But I genuinely think he might struggle in the championship. Revisit in 12 months time.
Agreed. I'm hoping 3 players in. Holding mid, full back and another up and coming striker. A season long (non recallable) loan of Morsy would be good, if he's going there. If we could have brought Morsy on after 60 minutes on Saturday, we might have steamrollered them, Kenny Dougall is great but has had two periods out injured & is also called up internationally..
Isn't Morsy an international too? Could be wrong on that. We shouldn't be as badly affected this season with the international breaks too, unless there are international tournaments going on.
I find it amazing.... that the male mind can recall all sorts of useless facts and statistics.... yet remember the birthday or anniversary of a loved one.... it suddenly starts to get a bit sketchy! ;-)
even at the lowest price we have done good business. We paid £750k I believe, so that's a healthy profit. He has not really been proven at Championship level, so I am not overly worried to lose him. I wish him well and hope he does well at Wigan(But not when they play us) ... He always seemed to give his all for Barnsley and for me showed a good effort and passion for us. All of us on here have no real idea of what goes on behind the doors of Oakwell, maybe Moore found out he was not a key piece in the jigsaw.
Can't claim I knew the answer straight away DWL. When it first appeared on here that we might be interested in him, I looked at his online profile and remembered the fact he's played for Egypt seven times He's 27 now, so with so few international call ups over a three year period, if he does sign, his absences could well be few and far between as we can ill afford to have key players unavailable.
