According to Twitter we're the only ones to have made a solid bid, so unless someone comes in with more money in the next 24 hours there's a good chance of this happening - might need to round our bid up to 3 million Euro from the 2.7 currently being offered,
I’m baffled that people can’t see the constant improvements in contract offerings. Andy Yiadom, 2 year deal, left on a free. Liam Lindsay, 3 year deal, sold for £3m with a year left. Mads Andersen, signed on a 4 year deal with an another year in the clubs favour. We are improving and we are going the same way that Brentford are. Have some faith in this scouting team that have unearthed some gems (and admittedly some duds). I’d rather be in our position than Bolton’s.
With the current fall in the value of the pound, delaying by a couple of days could add any extra £1million onto the price tag!
Which of the players that scored 17 or more championship league goals would we realistically be able to sign though? here is your list of those that managed it last season, I reckon we cant get any.... 1. Teemu Pukki Finland Norwich City 29 (0) 2. Tammy Abraham England Aston Villa 25 (5) Neal Maupay Argentina Brentford FC 25 (3) 4. Dwight Gayle England West Bromwich Albion 23 (0) Billy Sharp England Sheffield United 23 (1) 6. Che Adams England Birmingham City 22 (1) Jarrod Bowen England Hull City 22 (4) Oliver McBurnie Scotland Swansea City 22 (3) Jay Rodriguez England West Bromwich Albion 22 (8) 10. Lewis Grabban Jamaica Nottingham Forest 16 (3)
Oh diddums have you thrown your toys out the pram because you’ve got nothing to say back You said we don’t need potential because we’ve already got it across the squad, which is incredibly daft because why would you not want a player who has potential. You also said we need a striker that can keep us in the division this year, clearly implying that despite you knowing exactly nothing about this lad you don’t think he can do that, also what about next year and the year after that and the year after that will we not need players then so why not invest in someone who will provide both. And you were absolutely on about Kieffer so don’t try to hide we all know who the 26 year old striker with 17 goals in 29 games is, which like I said is pointless going on about because he’s left and won’t be coming back. And I said exactly nothing about Leeds so that original point made no sense for a starter.
My main problem with such money spent on such a player is he won't be signed to sit on the bench. Unless he's being signed on a five year deal someone is being dropped or sliding down the pecking order.
Be paying for his potential. I would assume he will get game time behind Cauley unless he really impresses. Will be like the Collins one where he is on a long term deal as a project for next few seasons.
I would prefer we take risks on young players than sign veterans who have been around the league a while. Fortune favours the brave and the recent signings have generally been ok.
Careful now, that guys only seen him play in real life- everyone here has read an article and watched a YouTube video so can be certain he’s better than our top scorer from last season.
