Pinillos has played 42 games at Championship level - Thiam has 29 games.

To an extent they are experienced, settled and a known quantity.

Last year of contracts - do we keep them or sell? Unless massive bids come in, I think we need them both his season.

Conversely, they may both sign contract extensions.

I’d be surprised if Pinillos doesn’t retain his place as first choice LB when fit. How long he keeps it only time will tell.

Thiam’s role looks like being impact sub / fresh legs. He wasn’t really up to it last time in the Championship, and was still hit and miss at League One level. He seems a good lad to have in the squad, but if previously rumoured bids of circa 2 million were true I think we could reinvest in players with more potential.

I think Pinillos will stay because we don't have much cover at left back.

I reckon we'll cash in on Thiam though. Plenty of options in his position with the likes of Thomas, Wilks, Chaplin and Brown so his chances of playing might be somewhat limited. If he doesn't play much his value will go down so I presume they'll try and sell him this window.

If someone bids for both they will be gone tomorrow in my opinion.

I think Thiam has far more attraction for potential suitors but we shall see, I’d be quite happy to keep Pinillos

Personally I'd keep both for as long as possible. It's a long season, there's two domestic trophies to play for, injuries etc can happen. I think they're two much needed players right now.

I really hope that Thiam is not allowed to go and that he signs a new contract (if and when)

Pinillos came here as a free agent so owe's us nothing.. Stay till EoS and then leave id say..

Thiam .. if nobody offers us a profit on him he'll stay.. We're not going to make money in every deal.

Totally agree. Both got to stay in my eyes.

Pinillos owes us nothing. Thiam with a contract extension might be worth something. He did well against Sheff Utd when he came on.

As you say, it’s a long season.

People going nuts cos we haven't got enough cover in some positions, but then they're happy to get shut of Thiam as cover... Welcome to Crazytown.

Sell him in Jan if we have the option, no point selling him now.

So with the Conway statement, our business is concluded.

Thiam and Pinillos must be staying (they could still go abroad for the next 2 weeks, which would be likely destinations for both of them), but I think with this statement it means we’re done for ins and outs.

Wonder if the club will tie them down - if just to get a few quid from them if they do go next year.

Can’t see Pinillos going as it would leave us short. I want Thiam to stay, but I wonder if he might be off. He doesn’t have the intensity to fit naturally into Stendel’s system (though he has other strengths that I quite enjoy)

I think with the Conway statement, that surely must conclude all business.

Thiam cost us money, so would expect us to at least agree a 12 month extension.

I think he does fit into the system, just perhaps others maybe are now in front of him. It’s a long season though.

I can see Pinillos being released at the end of the season due to his injury record. Thiam I'd like to see given a new contract. Unless sold abroad he's the type to come back and bite you on the arse.
