Just seen they've ended up signing Callum Elder from Leicester, oh dear!! Anyone fancying them for for the drop this season with all the problems off the pitch? The situation behind the scenes must be very poor for Nigel Adkins to have walked out.
Another basket case of an owner who's ripping the soul out of a football club. Admittedly, I hate Hull... they're one of them clubs that reyt get under my skin. Callum Elder was one of the worst players I'd seen play for us. Caught out of position constantly, no pace, couldn't cross, couldn't tackle. Infact the only decent thing I saw him do for us was a slide tackle and hourihane at villa away.
I went to QPR away on a cold Tuesday night and he had a big head start on their winger but still got beat to the ball, fell over in the process and they went through on goal and made it 2-0. I think the game ended up finishing 2-1, but people in the away end were just laughing at him that night. He is without doubt one of the worst full backs I've seen play for us, no pace, no positionall awareness, didn't jump for headers, couldn't tackle!
Reading their forum, it seems like they're pretty much resigned to having a dire season. They absolutely despise their owners., and the new signings have been greeted with something along the lines of "he may well be crap, but at least they've agreed to join which is as much as we can expect under the circumstances". Bolton fans seem to be in stitches that Hull have given them some money for Josh Magennis. If he's crap even within the current context of Bolton Wanderers, he must be pretty rubbish.
This really would be rubbing salt into open wounds. Imagine having Bolton fans ripping the sh*t out of you at the minute.
I've watched quite a bit of Magennis for Northern Ireland, he's pretty uncompromising to say the least. Think he was a goalkeeper until about age 20 then became a striker.
I'm surprised Bolton let him go in that case. Surely a rush goalie would be very useful in their situation!
I saw a fair bit of Magennis last season, and he is one of the worse strikers I think I've ever seen, and that's saying something considering I remember clear as day Dave Regis' attempts and being a footballer!
Callum Elder. I know he was young when he was with us but anyone who went to the Villa match away (we won 3-1 I think) would have seen the most nightmare performance by the lad. Subbed just after half time without being injured tells you all you need to know.
