    You would have to assume that none of the people chanting know the player well enough to confirm the accuracy of the words, so ask yourself what it is about the player that has led to that being sung?

    That was 2002 as well and was written to show just how out of touch Brent and Gareth were. It’s nice to see how far we’ve come in 17 years since that episode was aired.

    For about the 10th time on the 10th different thread. Its perpetuates a racial stereotype, if you don't understand why that's racist I suggest you do some research, you need more help than a football message board can realistically offer.

    Villa are having a similar problem, this is how some of their fans explain how it is racist, which is hopefully useful.

    “Whilst some fans will beg the question of how the chant is discriminatory, it perpetuates racial stereotypes that have long been held – and likely wouldn’t be sung if Konsa was of another ethnicity.

    Any assumption based upon the colour of someone’s skin is racist.

    This supposedly ‘positive’ statement is not a problem-free statement to make. There’s a likelihood that someone holding this stereotypical thought is going to hold others towards those of other ethnicities and religions too.”

    … i've been avoiding people who heavily use sunbeds for decades. Absolute minefield.

    Still, I find it extremely easy to speak to human beings without being racist or phobic in any way shape or form. Hello. (not racist) How are you? (Still not racist)
