And we usually lose and it's crap. I'm clearly an idiot for continuing to go because there's very little enjoyment. Usually it's a poor game and we concede a sloppy goal. Today we were hammered. Could and should have been more. We barely created a thing. Our centre halves can't pass. They just can't do it. To adopt the tactics we did, playing the ball to the centre halves at every restart, is imbecilic. Sorry Daniel, but it is. There were at least a dozen occasions where we lost the ball before being able to clear it from our own half and presented the opposition with a goal scoring chance because our centre halves can't pass the ball. You may want to play that way, but if the players you've signed can't, don't do it. And your play making midfielder can't do it either, he's just as guilty. Just because you now can play a goal kick to your own player inside the 18 yard box, it doesn't mean you have to. It's an option not a directive. If the opposition line up with 4 players on the 18 yard line and you continue to play that way, when we've lost the ball 10 times before by doing just that, and it's clear the players aren't good enough to do it, then stop. Just stop. If it was an experiment to see if you could I'd like my £12 back please. It's a long time since I've seen us play that badly.
I genuinely believe had it been 6-0 I'd have still felt Carlisle were hard done by. Absolutely out-played, out-fought and out of the cup. Worrying display.
Tbf when on the few occasions our goalkeeper kicked the ball upfield at Hillsborough on Saturday it came straight back with the opposition winning it every time . So not sure humping it will do us any good with the squad we’ve got . The players have to do better .
I get the disappointment of us being hammered especially with a poor inept showing like last night (I was there) but 6-0 come on FFS. We hit the woodwork twice and their keeper made 2 really good save. They were other efforts that were either comfortable saves or off target. Also, their second goal came at a time when we were having our best, albeit small, period of the game. There was no lack of effort either as some have suggested. It was a very poor performance from us and Carlisle fully deserved the win and the score did not flatter them. Perspective required
We were doing the pissing abart at the back last season before rule changes and that should have given him an inkling of it aint working, then if we didn`t get caught out it ended 9 times out of ten with a centre aif playin/hoofing it up field.
