Stendel: "We tried, but it just didn't happen." Interviews Daniel Stendel insists the Reds must forget about Tuesday evening’s defeat to Carlisle United and focus on this weekend’s clash with Charlton Athletic. Continue reading on the official site...
Could see we tried. The team wasn’t good enough as a pack and as individuals. Apologies for uproar yesterday but seriously I care and I’m worried even though it’s early.
I think Mcgeehan was just as much to blame for the first goal as Halme. He was only told on Saturday not to pass backwards or sideways. Him ans Styles overplayed at times in midfield.
you appear to be dodging a lot of people who are willing to take you up on that "12 points" bet you were offering out last night. Does this mean you've re-thought your flounce?
The team wasn't good enough on this particular night, against this particular opponent. Obviously Daniel is as baffled as the rest of us. Think it's time to accept it for what it was - a bad night after a poor Saturday. Daniel and the Reds will have my support even though I suspect we may be in a for a period of struggle.
Nope I haven’t. If I’m wrong I’ll hold myself up mate. I was wrong about the bet bit though because I would never put money on my own club or against it. It’s completely wrong but I will make a post if I’m wrong so you can all give me some
McGeehan had a nightmare, Anderson very poor too, Pinillos totally off the pace. Missed chances up front. Team shape all over the place. Some credit to Carlisle, who have a good manager & a team that looked like they were delivering a game plan to perfection. We could well bounce back versus Charlton, if we can learn from this. It is a game we could do with winning & we can do it, if we can keep shape & eradicate errors. Won't be easy though & we need a big performance from Cam & Styles in the middle of the park.
I'll be astounded if we beat Charlton on Saturday, i went last night and i just can't see the vast improvement we need to beat them but i honestly hope i'am proved wrong.
I said this maybe and got shot down. I got out of hand last night I apologise but from what I saw it’s made me worried
Watching the Club You Tube, did anyone else think that the players just didn't look up for the game, even before they got on to the pitch? Ok, Stendel gave some squad players a run-out in what you could only call a make-shift team which did not gel at all, but suppose that the manager goes into the game regarding it as a practice-match? How would the players respond? I just sense that was the performance we got and that it will be very different against Charlton on Saturday. I think that the players and coaches body-language will be telling a different story well before they even set foot on the pitch.
