Was anyone else astounded by the Chaplin miss? He rounded the keeper and it just looked like he had to tap the ball in, but instead kept hold of it and looked for a pass. It looked bizarre to me at the time...
Can watch it from around 4:10. On second look it's even worse than it looked last night. He's an attacking player bought for goals and he just froze.
I realise he’s one footed but to not have confidence to roll the ball into an empty net with his weaker foot is a bit frightening.....
Scored several goals with his right in the past, including a few outside the box and that finish against Sunderland last year. So seems more an error of judgement than being one footed to me.
Just seen it and thought WTF. There must be more to it than it just being on his weaker foot because it was an easy chance.
Not as bad as I imagined after reading this thread. He was very wide, tight angle and defenders running towards goal. He should have hit it first time once rounding keeper but his touch with left almost took him to byline. but not miss of the the season. Not like Moore v leeds lol
Our players were generally just far to slow at reacting to anything. The defence looked all at sea. Only one to come out with a bit of credit is Collins as without him it could have been 0-6. It's only right people are concerned, Carlisle are two divisions below us and they didn't just beat us, they played us off the park. Saturday's game is absolutely massive, we can't keep pissi*g about at the back and giving soft goals away.
He was literally 3 yards from goal, no where near the by line with the defenders late sliding in, more hope than expectation , we can dress it up how we want but in reality it was a glaring tap in.
Im convinced some act of god diverted that wide. No way a bloke who I saw the next season score countless goals outside the box, score with his head and with either foot missed an open net from two yard out in the middle of the goal. That. Did. Not. Happen. Naturally.
