Chennels Shakespeare Silk stone Go up scummer lane .. commercial and moulders bar ruelle near bus station. All open for day time trade. What you forget Nudge is it’s supply v demand. Those that drink in town during the day don’t want to pay £3 a pint for ale when they can get smooth or lager for £1.50 a time...
tbf top end of town is better than it's ever been. Tipsy Cow Pavillion tin oyle Evoo Oobar pour 22 tha'll be pissed after them 6 nudge, finish off in Brahmahs for fruity cider and a bucket .
Supply and demand is something I considered. Why should Barnsley cater for the cheap ??? There’s money in Barnsley but business in the town is generally not catering for the people who don’t mind spending that little bit more for quality in a quality setting.
3 out of those 6 don't do ale, although the pizza at Evoo is quality. Never been in the pavillion so can't comment on them.
Very good pub, run by a Barnsley ST holder, who happens to be my mate, so I am biased. I am an ale drinker & I live in Headingley, where there are some great ale houses.
On On a weekday afternoon? Most people are at work or on nights. You should have phoned ahead, someone may have put a roller disco on for you if you’d told them you used to do a bit at matches
Penny Farthing? White Hart. Silvers Cross Keys. Jingle buoy George hotel Travellers Industry. Changes Yer not looking man.
Oh before I forget... Pavilion, tin Oyle, and tipsy cow near the town hall. 00bar, garrison, Old George, Evoo, Backyard BBQ, cafe aroma, arcade ale house, the yard down arcade/Hanson street Cafe Ruelle bottom of Regent street. Favella Passion restaurant. Falco lounge Are all places for folk who like a better setting and spending a bit extra. All on a par with what Leeds has to offer.
No. 7 - looked through the window - about 6 people in. I know it sells good real ale but I just do not like this boozer. It’s like supping in a long dismal corridor. It just does not have a warm welcoming atmosphere. Walked away. Yeh coz thar really going to light up the place, yer miserable tw@t.
