My thoughts exactly. Just prey we don’t see a performance like that against Championship opposition.

You were lucky. They were the highlights, can you imagine how bad the rest of it was!

I've seen countless poor games and bad performances over the years. I've seen us lose to non-league teams. I've seen us get mullered by our peers on any number of occasions. But I'm struggling to remember being taken to the sword so comprehensively by a team two leagues below us. Lose? Yes. Play badly and lose? Yes. But not get arseholed.

I don't mean any disrespect to Carlisle. In order to beat us in such a fashion they had to play well, and did. Nor is this a slight on the size and stature of their club. But right now, because of the difference in league position, we enjoy a much higher income and can tempt (supposedly) better players. It didn't look like it last night. We were second best, in all areas.

I'm going on 50, you may be older, but if you are and didn't go it doesn't mean you've seen us play worse. I'm not sure I have.

I’ve probably seen us play worse on numerous occasions over the years (I’m 55 btw) but taking into account that the opposition are 2 leagues below makes it hard to remember when. We we’re frighteningly bad.
Big test of character now on Saturday.

Played bad and lost , not first time and it’ll not be last .
We did have chances and their goalie made a couple of saves we hit woodwork spurned some good chances .
Not making excuses but I’ve watched Barnsley a lot of years and although memories not what it used to be I guarantee I’ll have watched far worse over years .
Especially early 70s on cold wet winter nights with 2-3,000 poor souls rattling around the stadium .
I remember Rhyl, I remember Bromsgrove away when lynch mobs were forming .
They’ll have been worse with a lot less chances no doubt about that but it doesn’t seem like it at present . Hopefully we’ll get it together on Saturday and Tuesday will be a memory .
We didn’t have that luxury in 70s what you got Tuesday you got months on end lol

I was at that game (and the WBA game where we also shipped 7).
To be frank we were fortunate to get nil.

I saw the first Carlisle goal on Calendar earlier, the one where it goes through Halme's legs. The clip they showed had a commentator. I didn't think it was being shown anywhere.

I am never taking my husband to a match again. He has never seen us win but more than that, we play like we did on Tuesday every single time. He hates football and I’m starting to see why when they are the only matches he has ever seen. I don’t understand how it happens every time, I spend the whole match trying to convince him that’s not what we are normally like. As a consequence, he’s only heard the crowd grumbling too and just thinks the whole thing is pants. I just want him to see us win so he can experience a fun time there for once.

So it’s all you and your husbands fault then!!!

Please find him something else for matchdays... your clubs success depends on it ;-)

Don’t think it’s owt to do with superstition tbh .
I used to be a big believer in superstition to the point it was affecting my entire life .
I made a New Years resolution to not be superstitious and up to now seems to be going just fine , touch wood
