Hopefully we'll see something similar to the Fulham performance rather than the Carlisle one. It's an excellent opportunity to witness a positive reaction to such a poor display. Tuesday's 'performance' certainly hasn't dampened my enthusiasm for watching our club and this team in particular. It won't be easy, as Charlton have started their league campaign very well, with victories at Blackburn & home to Stoke. From a personal aspect, I'll be going to Oakwell with barnsley66 for the first time since the victory over Blackpool in April. He's great company and a decent bloke.
Me too. Very rare does it get to Friday and I haven't found a way of shaking off the bad vibes of a previous result. It's been very tough watching us from a distance out of the country when we've been so superb to watch over the last 12 months. The Luton game I'm coming over for next week will be my first since the play off final in 2016! Until then, it's iFollow for me. Enjoy the game and company, Lil!
Thank you, mate. I loved the performance against Fulham, the atmosphere within the ground and the result. As the new players begin to find their feet, I believe we'll see a greater level of consistency with the displays.
Your only saying that because your hoping he’s bought you a present . I’m hoping for a bounce back from last two games and were well capable of it after witnessing the Fulham game. Charlton are definitely no pushovers and every team we play this season we’ll have a fight on our hands . I’m hoping for three points nothing else will do unless we draw but whatever the result as long as we’ve tried that’s all I ask .
Bang on, Mr BL. Disappointing as it was, the cup doesn't matter. If the lads could do what they did against Fulham then given the right circumstances, they can do it again. They just need confidence, good support from the stands, and to keep DS's instructions in mind. We beat them at Oakwell in December and we can do so again.
We battered them in December until twenty minutes to go Bahre wasted some great opportunities to score.
1st leauge game this year looking forward to it myself, think there will be a massive difference in the display from tuesdays....... Bag o *****
As always, I'm expecting a minimum of 3 points, tomorrow.. & am backing Cauley to be the league's top scorer, come 5 o'clock..
I'm looking forwards but with some concerns - there was no real pressure in the Fulham game - had we lost it it would have been easy to shrug off. I could relax and enjoy the match. But this game is important - Charlton are a true rival in the mini league we may well find ourselves in a loss tomorrow will be more concerning than had we lost the first game I am much more stressed than I was a fortnight ago
The positives far outweigh the negatives for me, Dave, old mate. I've just noticed. After next week's game against Luton, we're not at home on a Saturday until 19th October when we play Swansea!
If mowatt is out we will struggle. Hopefully we dont concede early or the drums will start beating.....
Looking forward to tomorrow, think we'll be back to same starting 11, maybe with Styles coming in for Mowatt. Tonge's interview seemed more positive about Mowatt, but worrying about Dougall's return.
I hope you're as accurate with this as you were with your Fulham prediction. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/fulham-predictions.281786/#post-2325850
Yes I spotted that a while ago - its rather annoying we do have a couple of Sunday games but they arent very convenient for me
When I noticed it, you were the first person I thought of. Which shows what an impression you've made on me throughout the years!
We didn't see a reaction Tuesday and so there should be a doubly good reaction. Looking forward to seeing the sprinklers on to make sure the pitch isn't dry.
Gut feeling Charlton will steal all 3 points tomorrow guys.. 1.2... Our goal being a consolation goal coming very late on.. Hope I'm wrong..
